Paradigm Shift

So what better way to ring in a new year with a fresh start to our old
game? This past month has been quite the exciting one as we geared up for
and then launched our grand reopening.

I've had quite a few players and guests ask about why we closed down in
the first place. Really, we never officially closed so much as went on
hiatus, but I suppose the point stands. The reason we shut our doors for
the past several months was mostly because of a lack of players and some
severe cases of RL on behalf of the staff.

So we decided to take a bit of time off, regroup and rework things. Now
that that beast known as real life has gotten settled down a bit again,
we're right back at it.

It's also given us a chance to do some spring cleaning, take care of
things we'd been putting off. It gives us a fresh start on plot, and now
that we have two years of experience in running an X-MU*, we have a better
idea of what should work and what simply won't.

But, of course, a game is only as good as its players. And though we may
still be small in size, I've seen a lot of dedicated RPers out there
already. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with to keep
us on our toes.

I believe we've featured OGR before, but as we have a number of new
players, I thought it warranted mentioning again, for not only is OGR an
awesome and valuable resource on its own, it is also home to our Embassy,
which can be used as a refuge should XMR go down.

So - if you ever have problems connecting to XMR, hop onto OGR and @tel to
#1867 to join us. Or, if you normally hang out somewhere else on OGR and
don't want to leave, you can always join our channel there:
XMenRetribution.
