I'm sure you are right, even if I've not seen that quote, nor it's
context. He also said that he did not want war in 1939, among many other
things.

Chapter 14 of mein kampf doesn't leave very much to the imagination as
to what his ambitions were, though.

But I guess that if Hitler had known all that we do now, he would not
have not have attacked Poland over Danzig in the first place.
