I am not sure what gives him the 5 toughness, but in most cases when
the toughness is listed like that it means that you use the 4T for
calculating instant death, and the 5T for other calculations, like
rolling to wound, etc.
So if he were wounded by Heavy Bolter it would take a 4 to wound, a
Lascannon would be a 2.But if he failed his invulnerable against the
Las he would suffer instant death since the Las is twice the 4T...It
is similar to the Marine Bike adding +1 to their toughness,
calculations for instant death are made on their toughness of 4, not
the 5 they get for riding the bike.

Ok, i have abaddon the despoiler and his Toughness it is 4, but then it says (5), but it doesnt say anything about the 5 toughness, or anything like that for...
