ELDB Black Hand update with Monger links available now.

(This means you can now export HTML deck lists that will hyperlink
each cardname to the Monger Utilities that will give you up to date
errata, rulings, clarifications, and Usenet search functions.)

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eldb3

-----------------------

Click on Files.

Click on the vtes.zip.

Save the file to the same location you have ELDB installed (usually
c:\program files\eldb).

Rename the vtes.mdb file to something else.

Extract the vtes.zip file to the same location.

Start using ELDB.

-----------------------

If you are using the ELDB for your inventory, be sure to export your
inventory _before_ renaming the file and extracting the new one. You
will need to edit the exported file in Notepad and take out the top
two lines to be able to re-import your inventory.

Unfortunately, Methuselahs do not play Reaction Cards, Minions do. And
only your minions can play reaction cards from your hand.

[1.6.3]

"Minion cards are cards that your vampires and allies (collectively
referred to as "minions") play. Unless the card states otherwise, a minion
card is burned after a minion plays it...A ready untapped minion can play
a reaction card in response to an action taken by another Methuselah's
minion"

Ancient Hearts, absolutely not. That's WotC-land. What did you want
reprinted that wasn't in Final Nights or Camarilla Edition?

As for Bloodlines, are you referring to keeping it in print, or actually
updating the card layout for post-CE?

I would have thought this would have come up in my group before
now...

We had a Daughters Vote deck that used a lot of Freak Drive and had
a debate over what was a "successful action" when a political action
was involved.

A successful bleed requires at least 1 pool lost by the target
methuselah. So parallel to that, does a successful political action
require the vote to pass or simply for the vote to be called without
getting blocked? From reading some older posts, it seems that
calling a referendum is the successful action (and hence any ability
or action modifier requiring a successful action, ala basic Freak
Drive, would apply), but what about cards that effect that
referendum, e.g. Telepathic Vote Counting? Are there other non-
blocking ways to make the referendum not happen (to defend against
this deck)?

Thanks,
Chris

If you play bad rush decks all the time, then this stuff is never a
problem. That's my solution, anyway.

> We had a Daughters Vote deck that used a lot of Freak Drive and had
> a debate over what was a "successful action" when a political action
> was involved.

A "successful action" is one that is not blocked or or otherwise
cancelled. A bleed of 0 that is not blocked (say Night Moves followed by
a Telepathic Counter) is a successful action and an unsuccessful bleed.
You can use inferior Freak Drive afterward, but you don't gain the edge.

Likewise with politics. Freak Drive doesn't care if the referendum passes
or not, only that the action to call it (the political action) is not
blocked or cancelled.

Telepathic Vote Counting cancels the referendum, not the action. If you
come to the point where TVC is playable ("Only usable during a
referendum") then the action is successful and inferior Freak Drive is
usable at the end of the action.

At least that's my understanding of things. If I'm wrong, I'm sure
someone will correct me.

Well, now that I know Ancient Hearts won't be out, I don't feel so
bad about snagging unopen boosters. And I can spell it now!
Final nights and Camarilla did the odd clans in bloodlines? *big
attraction to BL, really* Um... Both? Keeping in print would be the
bigger deal, I suppose.

Also, please be sure that your groups remembers that any minion cannot call for
a Political Action more than once in a turn. Not just not he same political
action, but any at all. its one of the actions governed by the No Repeat

Perhaps the ELDB3 group can be allowed for posting, so that bug
reports, program suggestions, etc, can be entered there....

For instance, on the newsgroup, a few users appear to have been
getting errors. I DL'd the update, and I run Win98SE, and have had
no problem. Also a few comment on some minor inconsistancies with
the info. If you have Access, you can edit this yourself...

well... i don't know where you live... but in Portugal i found some nice
toolboxes that are just right for ccg's

they're made of plastic, so damage from use is not an issue. They are just
perfect to put the cards ina landscape position and the box has some plates to
divide the spaces inside. Each box has enough space for 12 90card+crypt decks in
protectors.

Try going to some place where toolboxes are sold. I bought mine at Carrefour,
if it helps you.

   cheers,

Humm... I'd use one copy of each vamp, but that's me. Do you have a keystone
vamp you want to build the deck around? I see that
often, and I see it work. I'd bump out all the vamps but one + copies over a
capicty you choose. Another idea is pick as many from
one sect as you can, because of your masters requiring camirilla tremere.
Another question, Where are you running into trouble?
What can't you do in games? Live to the second round? Or just get the second
round started?

A:) see comments at begining
B:) You have a goal in mind with the deck, so that's good. I... Don't know what
I'd do, in your case, because I've got a huge box of
cards, from the early editions.
C:) As of the sabbat war rules, the second round of combat begins at close
again. I didn't know that...

The troubles begin equiping the deer rifle that is only at +1 stealth
(+2 with Muaziz) or +3 with the Magic of the Smith (but i usually use
it for the ankara citadel).
Once with the rifle get the 2on round its easy if the opposing minion
does not agravated ranged strikes (apportations give me more
manouvers if i need more than 2 (from the rifle)), i press with
apportations and then the walk of flames with blood to water (if
necesari).

Anarchs awake!!

Show your independence and celebrate the publishing of
Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" by attending the Vampire: The
Eternal Struggle Tournament January 10, 2004 at Games and
Comics...and Stuff in beautiful downtown Glen Burnie. The
event is a sanctioned White Wolf VTES tournament.

That's right, the phamplet "Common Sense" was first
published on January 10, 1776 during the American
Revolutionary War by Thomas Paine. Its pages contained a
denouncement of British rule.

Celebrate your independence by overthrowing your prey and
depriving her of her resources. A Constructed Deck VTES

January 10, 2004 to commemorate the publishing of this
historic tome.

Arguments against British rule in "Common Sense":

It was ridiculous for an island to rule a continent.
America is not a "British nation"; it is composed of
influences from all of Europe.

Even if Britain was the "mother country" of America, that
makes her actions all the more horrendous, for no mother
would harm her children so brutally.

Being a part of Britain would drag America into unessecary
European wars, and keep it from the international commerce
at which America excelled.

==========================

The publication of this pamphlet was key in the growth of
popular support for independence from Britain. Thomas
Jefferson took ideas from both this publication and John
Locke when writing the Declaration of Independence.

Either this hasn't been asked here, or the archive search tool is
pretty bad...

What happens if a Cammarilla Tremere Slave Gargoyle goes Anarch? Does
he become an Anarch or an Anarch Tremere Slave? Same question for
other sect-changing effects (Like Frying Pan/Fire)?

Thanks,
Chris

The vampire's traits at first:
Camarilla
Tremere Slave
Gargoyle

When he "goes Anarch":
Independent
Tremere Slave
Gargoyle
Anarch

(That is, his sect changes to independent and he becomes anarch. No other
changes are made.)
