The magic system in Vis Magica would work well for Middle Earth - it is not all whizz-bang you're dead stuff, it affects the  main battle units instead, making them tougher, faster, braver, etc.

 

It has been a while for me too, but we had some great games with it.

Thanks for the reply.

Can you remember did you use Vis Magica or Vis Bellica? There was not
much magic in Middle Earth battles, but perhaps the basic rule systems
are much the same.

VM is indeed on a base system: but you can use individual figures grouped together without any real problems. Casualties are recorded on a single sheet for...

Not done it for a long time (and mainly only with sensible ie 6mm sized figures) but It always felt like the rules worked well for middle earth Chris Lowe...
