2º Unlur World Championship   Message List

Hello, everybody.

This is the announcement of the 2º Unlur World Championship.
Glenn Overby proposed a tournament by e-mail, but finally it wasn't
organized. (I don't know the reason). So I'm thinking that we could
yearly alternate a real time tournament and an e-mail tournament.
I want to know your opinions.
Some players told me that the past tournament was very long. Others
didn't like to annotate the moves. Now some says that it should be
played on the 8-size board.
The 2º World Tournament starts in January, so I'd like to know all
your opinions before the end of November, so I can have the rules
ready in December.

Taral Seierstad (Norway) is the current world champion who
convincenly beat David Bush (USA) 3-0 in the finals.

However there is something which is immovable Taral is defending the
title and he will qualified directly for the finals, however, I'll
let him play the candidates tournament to be able train to the
finals. Maybe if he wins the candidates tournament he shouldn't have
to defend the title in the finals, but I have to think about this.

Suggestions are welcome.

Regards.

-Jorge

May main objection was annotating moves. It would be good to find a solution to that (such as having an option on Ludoteka.com to email the move record to a ...

Hi Lyman! Quick answer! Maybe annotating games is not so important as I first thougth. It's likely that the games that deserves to be saved are the games of...
