Lt.JG Salak: Moving out...   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1809 of 1810 |
OOC: This sim is going out to both the Wallace and Independence mailing
lists. Apologies to those who recieve this twice.

Hope you don't mind me bringing a guest or two with me Admiral, I'd planned
the visit to be for shore leave but given it's so short, I thought brining
them with us would be the easiest option... their journey to DS17 has been
mentioned a few times previously, and the vessel was delayed in arrival by
the events regarding Eratis...

I shall write the actual moving onto the Independence soon, probably Monday.

IC:

((Salaks' Quarters, Deck 3, USS Wallace))

::His work on the Wallace could never be complete, there would always be
some system malfunctioning somewhere on the ship, yet time was his main
constraint now as ever... He was due to have left the ship within the hour,
yet had still not read the PADD detailing his new posting which lay buried
amongst the ever-constant pile upon his desk.::

::He had still not replaced the desk... it was a standard issue desk;
metallic and dull in comparison to it's forebairer. Little remained of the
old desk now, shattered into splinters when the very place the Vulcan stood
was devasted by a bomb 9 months ago. He'd only recently been able to move
back in, the entire section rebuilt. The wall was lined with crates of
belongings, yet the new desk along with other furniture was due to arrive on
the station any day now, on the Tananda...::

::It would not be difficult to move out, a simple process of beaming all the
crates to where he was going, be it ship, station or shuttle. That left just
his Lyre and the work he still had cluttered on the desk. He moved towards
the pile of PADD's, hoping to find the one with his posting upon it, when he
was interupted by the door chime...::

Salak: Enter?

::He had not expected anyone to come by at this time, especially with the
senior crew all departing. Salak looked towards the door as it slid open
with its characteristic swoosh, the light of the corridor cast upon the
floor with a shadow within it as it penetrated the dark barren room::

Salak: Mother?

T'Plar: I was told I could find you here...

::Salak simply nodded in acknowledgement and continued to search for the
PADD whilst his mother glanced around the room::

T'Plar: So this is the place you call home then?

Salak: That would be correct, although not for much longer...

T'Plar: You're moving?

::Salak dropped a seventh PADD on the floor having skim read it, seeing a
note on the eighth which he was looking for...::

Salak: Your logic would be accurate.

T'Plar: May I inquire as to where?

::Salak reads the PADD...::

Salak: The Independence... it leaves the station today.

T'Plar: When will you return here?

Salak: I can not provide a definate answer, mother... However, if I can't
stay here where you are, perhaps you can come with me where I shall be?

T'Plar: Is that permissable?

Salak: Well I would need to place the request for guest quarters for you to
my new commanding officer but family is permitted on board so logically...

::Salak began writing a note on the PADD, to file the request for the
Admiral to see... He then used wall console above the desk, beaming the
crates onto the Independence. It was only at this point that he wondered...
Transmitting the message for Admiral Anassasi's attention, he proceeded to
ask...::

Salak: How did you travel here mother, I was not aware you had left the
embassy...

T'Plar: A frieghter, the SS Tananda. It was performing a run from Andor and
Vulcan to this station, and provided the possibility of a... non-exotic form
of travel.

Salak: Indeed... Would you care to walk with me? I am done here.

T'Plar: I shall need to arrange for my transfer from the station to your new
ship, we shall talk later Salak...

Salak: Indeed mother. Live long and prosper.

T'Plar: Peace and long life...

::T'Plar left the room, Salak alone once more as his mother returned to the
station and her quarters. Salak ordered a Spice Tea from the replicator,
sealed the room, and walked across to the station himself... saying farewell
to the Wallace for perhaps the final time...::
