(OOC: It appears not everyone is willing to send in the last sims,
some even cancelled their subscription to this group in order to
focus on their new ship. To that end, I post this sim which takes
place after the wedding. If the wedding DOES happen in sim after
all, it'll simply come prior to this sim in the time-line. As I am
not sure we'll sim again together, I will say my goodbye now before
you're all gone to your new ships :) Thank you all for a fun time.
This group has been one of the best in the fleet, thanks to you guys
the Victory has been an example and a legend. I will not forget you.
As they say in good maritime tradition, I wish you all clear
horizons and smooth sailing.)

(( DeepSpace Nine – Party Hall ))

:: The announcement had come as a surprise to the crew. Most were
sad, others looking forward on embarking on the next adventure.
Luckily, the party had not been destroyed due to the fact the ship
was going to be decommissioned. Of course it had diminished
somewhat, but Jacen Fanel and his bride would probably look back at
this day with lots of warm feelings.

Standing there, left from the luxuriously decorated buffet, Robin
let her eyes glide over the people in the room. Some of them she had
served with for years, others more recently. During the years, this
crew had shared many adventures together, sometimes barely
surviving. But, in the end everything always turned out for the
best. This time would be no different. Well, that wasn't completely
true… Robin had resigned as CO as ordered by Starfleet, and the once
proud Intrepid-Class starship USS Victory was to be decommissioned,
not likely to set sail again.

Robin's face betrayed some tears building up as she silently glanced
at her senior officers. As she slowly looked at each of them, her
mind drifted through many memories. Memories which she had built
together with her crew. She knew all would probably end up fine,
perhaps some even in command of their own ships. Nevertheless, she
felt sad and even somewhat guilty. ::

PHOENIX: oO It has been an honour and pleasure serving with you, my
friends. Take care of each other. Oo

:: With that Robin blinked away another tear and truned around to
leave the room. She had no intention of saying goodbye to everyone
one at a time. She had told them all what was going on. Well, not
exactly. Of course she could not tell anyone of her real mission,
but the Medical story instead. Robin hated goodbyes. She preferred
to say `until next time', but she was also aware of the fact `next
time' might never come.

The doors swooshed open as Robin walked through them to leave the
room. Just before they swooshed shut behind her, Robin glanced at
her former crew one last time. With a brief and tiny smile, Robin
turned away and headed to another docking pilon, on her way to a new
mission, knowing... all good things would come to an end as life
went on. Yes, all good things come to an end.::

PHOENIX: oO Goodbye, Victory. Oo

:: With that, the female CO disappeared into the shadows of the busy
promenade. All that remained was an old decommission ship… and a
book full of memories.::

THE END

(OOC: May you all live long and prosper, my dear friends. Goodbye.)

With warmest regards,

Fred
