((Bridge - Deck 1 - USS Aurora))
::Aurora slid smoothly between the open station doors,
her first time out with her new crew.::
PARKER: Helm ... make our course 27 mark 116, 1/4
impulse.
HARLEY: response
PARKER: Mister Thomas, what's our status .. still
green I hope?
THOMAS: response
PARKER: Double check all departments. Are we still
clear for this test?
::Megan turned to her engineer.::
Mister Powers, I trust we'll have warp when I need it?
POWERS: response
PARKER: Helm, when we clear the system change our
heading to 16 mark 75, take us to warp 3.
ANYONE: response
::Aurora began her trek to the systems edge .... and
beyond.::

((Captain’s Ready Room))
PARKER: Very well Commander. And I really am glad to
have you aboard to keep us safe. Dismissed.
SOLAN: ::Solan nodded.:: Thank you, Commander. I’m
very glad to be here.
::Solan stood to leave, and headed for the door. Just
before it opened to let him out, he turned and spoke
again.:: Ah, Commander? I’d just like to say,
congratulations on receiving your command.
PARKER: Thanks you Solan .. without a great crew
behind me on Victory, it could not have happened.
SOLAN: Modesty, it’s a trait human’s have in
abundance. I don’t always understand it, but I can see
it well enough. You’ve earned this ship, Commander,
and this crew. We’ll serve you well.
PARKER: That means alot to me ... it really does.
::Solan turned and quickly left the ready room. He
wasn’t an emotional person. That was about the most
‘sappy’ he’d ever been in his life. He smiled at the
thought, he was probably getting soft.::
((A few minutes later))
:: Max stood at the door to Megan’s ready room and
heard the familiar chime.::
PARKER: Enter.
::Max stepped through the now open doors and saw his
captain sitting behind her desk.::
POWERS: I just wanted to give you a report about the
status of engineering ma’am.
::Max handed her the padd so she could read it over.
As she was reading Max went ahead and gave a quick
synopsis.::
POWERS: It seems that everything is up and running.
The work the yard workers are doing is purely cosmetic
at this point. I anticipate some minor problems that
will creep up as we first leave dock but I don’t
foresee anything too major.
PARKER: Let's hope not ... I'd hate to stall out and
have to be towed back inside.
POWERS: Yes ma’am. I have one more diagnostic running
on some of the peripheral systems down in engineering
but those results should come back shortly and well
within Starfleet’s parameters.
PARKER: Very good.
POWERS: As you can see we have full impulse and warp
capabilities. Power level throughout the ship are
right where they should be. Everything is coming back
just they way we’d like it to.
PARKER: I see.
POWERS: Is there anything else ma’am?
PARKER: No ... an excellent report. I'm sure
engineering will not let the ship down. Dismissed.
(TIMEWARP - NEXT MORNING - 1000)
::Megan had requested both Commander Beta and Lt
Thomas arrive an hour early to the briefing to run
over duty rosters, and other unfinished business.
Kael had arrived slightly before beta::
THOMAS: Morning Commander
PARKER: Good morning Lieutenant.
THOMAS: I've brought status reports and an inventory
of items we will be requiring before we leave.
::Kael handed the second PADD he was carrying to her.
He had thoroughly gone over the information Ensign
Black had prepared for him. The ensign had done a
good job, that helped make Kael's job easier::
PARKER: It seems we're further along then
anticipated.
THOMAS: Yes commander. The ship is still running on
schedule. I'd like to bring it forward but there are
still some adjustments that are taking some time.
This is a vessel of exploration and science, and I'm
still not happy with the sensor alignment. But as
you'll see in my report, I'm expecting that to be
finished by 14:00 today
PARKER: Good, I'm sure we'll be using those systems
extensively. But we still have time, Starfleet isn't
expecting more then a quick shakedown our first time
out.
::The commander as usual was very understanding. Kael
knew she wanted to be on the way, but he knew even
more how she wanted everything to be
perfect before we left::
THOMAS: I've compiled a list of duty rosters for my
department, and I've managed to obtain similiar lists
from the other heads of departments. Beta will be
bringing his with himself this morning.
::Kael took a quick breath, he was hoping he wasnt'
missing anything::
I've also included recreational activites and a
rotational roster. That fosters close bonding with
certain work groups, while not limiting them to only
working with them. I want the crew to get to know
everyone. We will need to work together.
PARKER: Excellent work, I'm sure I made the right
choice making you my Ops chief.
THOMAS: response
::With that, Lt Cmdr beta entered. As first officer,
Beta would take on most of the duties involved in crew
duty rosters and any disputes thus. Commander Parker
no doubt would be interested in what beta had to say.
Kael stepped slightly to the side, allowing Beta room
to speak::
(OOC: Beta is undergoing tests at school, so he'll
have to backsimm this later this week. We'll continue
then.)

:: Harley had had nice chat with Zazou, it was cut short when the CO asked Zazou for status reports from her. Harley took that point as a time to leave her to it, he headed to the Security Office but found Solon was not there, he learned from Lt(jg) Birk that he was in a meeting with Cmdr Parker. ::
:: Harley made his way back to the turbolift, and headed to deck 4, there a was a shuttle craft that he wanted to check out, one he had never seen before and for that matter heard of ... the WaveRider. It was not in the shuttlebay ...Infact to get to it, you climbed down a ladder ... not easy ... but space was limited on the Aurora, he enjoyed the exercise if he was to be truthfull. ::
:: Looking over the shuttle from end to end, he looked at the Helm layout, as well as Ops, they weren't big consoles, they only had the basics ... but again this was for atmospheric flight and again for science. ::
(present day - Quarters)
:: Joshua was up early...they were not yet put on a shift, a meeting was called for 1100hrs, he had got his security codes late last night, he headed to the mess hall and got some breakfast, making idle chit chat with the few crew members who were in there. ::
(1050hrs - conference room - deck1)
:: Josh entered the conference room, some Senior Officers were there already ... Josh made his way to his seat and sat down, looking over the PADD, There was No problems with helm whatsoever. ::
(1100hrs - conference room - deck1)
:: Commander Paker entered the room, the chat was low, in a whisper like tone. ::
Beta: ???
:: Everyone stopped talking, and stood to attention, almost as one. ::
Parker: As you were.
:: They sat down, and waited for Parker to talk, for Harley and he guessed the same for the other Ensigns, eagerly waiting for her to begin. ::
Parker: Anyone have anything for me before I begin?
Solon: Tactical and Security report everything is ready. The transport for our photon torpedoes arrived on schedule, and transfer is complete. Security has everything we need.
Thomas: I've just received word, our last remaining supplies including medical supplies have arrived. The good doctor can arranged for everything she needs to be brought to sickbay when she has the time. Operations reports maximum efficiency commander.
Harley: Helm is a go Captain, Everything's running at 100%
Parker: Launch preparations are proceeding more rapidly then expected ... by all reports. The crew and the yard hands have done an outstanding job getting us ready.
:: This was good news to Harley, he understood the need to make sure the ship was ready ...especially a new ship like this, but he wanted to take her out, he wanted to be at the helm, taking this ship to where-ever she had to go. ::
Parker: The yard chief has given us the green light to launch ... today.
:: Harley was pleased, they were finaly going to be leaving the Starbase. ::
Parker: After this meeting you will have 1 hour to prepare, then we head out for a shakedown. I want to use this flight to double check our readiness. Commander Beta and Lieutenant Thomas will be running readiness drills at random. Expect the unexpected.
Parker: If there's nothing else ... I suggest you return to your stations and prepare for launch. Dismissed.
Parker: If there's nothing else ... I suggest you return to your stations and prepare for launch. Dismissed.
:: They stood up and left the room, heading there separate ways, Josh headed to the bridge, exiting the bridge door, he walked to his console and began to make last minute preparations, throughout the hour readiness drills were done, they all worked out ... getting better as they were done. ::
:: The checks were complete, Helm check was complete. ::
:: The bridge was by now a hub of activity, there was a air of anticipation with a slight tinge of tension ... this was Aurora's first proper cruise, a shakedown. ::
Thomas: We have been given the all clear. Commander we are clear for launch.
Parker: Very well Lieutenant. Throw off all moorings ... secure from external support mode.
Mister Harley ... take us out, thrusters only.
:: Josh heard the Mooring clamps disengage, and the sound the ship made, began a slighty higher tone, as her systems and operations was done under her own power, without seeing them, he knew that the ships lights were coming on, almost simutaniously, It would be a sight to see for anybody watching, part of him wished he could see it from the outside ... but he was even more pleased to be piloting the ship himself, to be on the ship. ::
Harley: Aye Sir, taking us out Thrusters only.
:: Parker had obviously asked The stations CO, not to have there tractor beams, 'taxi', the ship out of the doors, Harley was a little nervous about this fact, he knew he was more then capable of doing this operation, although doing it for real was totaly different from the simulations. ::
oO Is She testing me? Oo
:: He kept an eye on his little veiw screen, it came up with more information, distance to the doors, distance between the ship and both sides of the doors and other information he needed, he kept looking from the veiwscreen to his console. ::
((Main Engineering))
:: Max was getting used to his new surroundings. Even
though the Aurora was small compared to the other
ships in the fleet she was big to Ensign Powers. He
had never been inside main engineering on an actual
Federation starship before. He just wanted to enjoy
the feeling and experience for a little while. He
found a comfy chair and just swirled back and forth
for a minute.::
:: He closed his eyes and imagined the ship in some
sort of battle with things badly damaged. Sparks
flying everywhere. Casualties and injuries mounting.
Things were looking bad for the Aurora and her crew.
But somehow, and Max hadn’t quite worked out the
details yet, he and the rest of engineering were able
to somehow give Parker all the power she needed to get
the ship and her crew to safety.::
oO One day . . . I know I’m going to come through big
time for this ship. Oo
:: He was brought out of his little fantasy by a
voice.::
CRISTO: Ensign Powers?
:: Max sat upright and gave a few tugs at the uniform
while clearing his throat.::
POWERS: Yes Cristo, what is it?
::Cristo walked over the Max and handed him a padd.::
CRISTO: I just wanted to give you a copy of the status
reports from engineering so far. It seems that
everything is in order for the most part.
POWERS: Thanks.
::Max looked over the reports quickly, trying to see
if anything would jump out at him as a problem.::
POWERS: You did a great job with this. Thanks. I’m
going to run this up to the captain so she can look it
over.
((A few minutes later))
:: Max stood at the door to Parker’s ready room and
heard the familiar chime.::

((TIME WARP))
((Conference Room – 1100 hours))
::Everyone was sitting around and talking when
Commander Parker came in. Then entire group jumped to
their feet.::
PARKER: As you were.
::She moved to the head of the large conference table
and took her chair.::
PARKER: Anyone have anything for me before I begin?

PARKER: After this meeting you will have 1 hour to
prepare, then we head out for a shakedown. I want to
use this flight to double check our readiness.
Commander Beta and Lieutenant Thomas will be running

what it meant while at the same time had absolutely no
clue what it meant. Max smiled to himself a little.::
ANYONE: response
PARKER: If there's nothing else ... I suggest you
return to your stations and prepare for launch.
Dismissed.
((TIME WARP – 1 hour later))
((Bridge))
::Everyone was one the bridge. Max knew that he
should probably be down in engineering but he wanted
to be on the bridge for the maiden launch. Parker
gave the order, Harley’s fingers danced across his
console, and the ship slowly began to crawl forward.
It had begun.::

::Beta and Kael were the first to arrive to the meeting. They had
finished their meeting with the commander slightly early and they
headed straight here. Both engaged in idle conversation, discussing
the slight modifications they would like to make to their stations.
It was not long before the rest of the crew entered.
Kael took a moment to familiarize himself with the rest of the senior
staff. All had met each other over the past few days, but Kael hadn't
the chance to really get to know any of them. That would be his task
from this moment on. Commander parker entered the room::
BETA: response
::Kael along with the rest of the room, got to their feet, as per

had to be ready for all occasions, beta and him would
make sure of that::

PARKER: If there's nothing else ... I suggest you return to your stations and prepare for launch. Dismissed.
::The crew dismissed departed their separate ways. Kael
headed to the bridge, to co-ordinate the last remaining
logistical elements before launch::
(TIMEWARP - 1 HOUR)
((Bridge - Deck 1))
::The bridge was alive. All senior crew were at their stations
and the Aurora was about to launch. Despite Kaels slight
trepidation at a ship transfer, he was very excited and
focused::
::A confirmation came through communications from the shipyard::
THOMAS: We have been given the all clear. Commander we are
clear for launch.
PARKER: Very well Lieutenant. Throw off all moorings ... secure from external support mode.
::Kael initiated the mooring declamps and switched to main power.
All systems were operational. Navigational sensors were online.
Ensign Harley had the helm::
Mister Harley ... take us out, thrusters only.
::The smooth Nova class ship sailed slowly but with pride
out of the shipyard. About to begin her life, as one of the
foremost ships in the fleet. Kael and the crew would see to
PARKER: Very well Commander. And I really am glad to have you aboard to keep us safe. Dismissed.
SOLAN: ::Solan nodded.:: Thank you, Commander. I’m very glad to be here.
::Solan stood to leave, and headed for the door. Just before it opened to let him out, he turned and spoke again.:: Ah, Commander? I’d just like to say, congratulations on receiving your command.
PARKER: (Response)
SOLAN: Modesty, it’s a trait human’s have in abundance. I don’t always understand it, but I can see it well enough. You’ve earned this ship, Commander, and this crew. We’ll serve you well.
PARKER: (Response if any)
SOLAN: ::Solan turned and quickly left the ready room. He wasn’t an emotional person. That was about the most ‘sappy’ he’d ever been in his life. He smiled at the thought, he was probably getting soft.::
((Time Warp-Bridge))
SOLAN: ::Solan sat on the bridge at the tactical station. It was in a corner, and fairly small, compared to a number of other ships he’d seen. But the Aurora didn’t have much need for weapons. That meant he wouldn’t always have much to do, but with this crew, he doubted he’d ever be bored.::
BETA: response
SOLAN: ::Solan proudly sprang to his feet with the rest of the officers, respectfully rising as Commander Parker came onto a fully staffed bridge for the first time.::
PARKER: As you were.
::Solan slowly sat, enjoying the feel of the bridge with all the crew there.::
PARKER: Anyone have anything for me before I begin?
ANYONE: response
SOLAN: Tactical and Security report everything is ready. The transport for our photon torpedoes arrived on schedule, and transfer is complete. Security has everything we need.
::Solan listened as the reports continued. Everything seemed to be in working order.::
PARKER: Launch preparations are proceeding more rapidly then expected ... by all reports. The crew and the yard hands have done an outstanding job getting us ready.
ANYONE: response
SOLAN: ::Solan smiled slightly. With this crew, nothing less was expected.::
PARKER: The yard chief has given us the green light to launch ... today.
::Solan raised an eyebrow. That was a bit of a shocker, but also very exhilarating.::
After this meeting you will have 1 hour to prepare, then we head out for a shakedown. I want to use this flight to double check our readiness.
Commander Beta and Lieutenant Thomas will be running readiness drills at random. Expect the unexpected.
SOLAN: ::Solan nodded. He’d had a professor in the Academy that had loved that saying . . . it usually came right before a pop-quiz, or a sudden and embarrassing call to the front of the class.::
ANYONE: response
PARKER: If there's nothing else ... I suggest you return to your stations and prepare for launch. Dismissed.
::Solan turned to the Tactical station and tapped a few controls.::
SOLAN: =/\=Solan to Torpedo Control. Have the torpedoes been stored yet? =/\=
BIRK: ::Down in the torpedo control room, Lt. JG Birk groaned and dropped his circuit spanner and whacked his head solidly against the bulkhead.::
oOMan! I have got the WORST timing ever! I get down here right as the chief decides to call . . . wahoo.Oo
::He thought that last bit sarcastically. He winced at the pain in his head, then put on a happy voice for the return call, tapping his comm.-badge.::
=/\=Birk here, sir. We’ve got the torpedoes on their way to the storage now. We’re just doing checkups on a few to make sure they’re good to go. =/\=
::He hoped his ‘happy voice’ was enough to conceal his ‘why does this guy have to check on me every few minutes’ attitude. Most people didn’t grate on Birk’s nerves like this. Birk got along with almost everybody, just something about the way Solan acted irked him. Go figure.::
SOLAN: =/\=Good, I’ll expect them to be ready when we launch in about an hour. We’ll be conducting a few Tactical and Security tests, please be prepared. I’ll organize from the bridge. Solan out. =/\=
BIRK: ::Birk made sure the link was closed, then lowered his voice to imitate Solan’s gravelly intonation.:: Get it done! Get it done now! Then I’ll take over.
CREWMEN: ::A crewmen behind Birk, working on another torpedo, laughed.:: What’s up with you, Lt.? I’ve never seen you do that before.
BIRK: ::Birk laughed.:: I ‘spose not. I dunno, he just rubs me wrong, ya know?
CREWMEN: Yeah, I know. You do the same thing to me!
BIRK: ::Birk’s head jerked up in surprise, but he was met with the laughed glance of the crewmen. The both had a good chuckle, then got back to work.::

BETA: Sir.
PARKER: Sit gentlemen .. we have work before we're ready to launch.
THOMAS: Agreed.
:: Cmdr. Parker passed them a padd to Beta and Thomas.::
PARKER: As you can see, we'll be ready for launch in two days. Our crew is aboard ... I want them helping the yard workers to get this done as quickly as possible. Mister Thomas, set up a work schedule for that.
THOMAS: Yes commander. I"ll liase with beta and
the other department heads ensuring everyone is busy.
PARKER: This is a new ship and I'm expecting problems. Nothing serious, but any problem can become that way.
THOMAS: Understood.
::Both officers knew what had to be done. This was a bit
of responsibility step up for kael. But he was confident
he would handle it, and overcome his first day jitters::
BETA: If that is all sir?
::Parker nodded in agreement, and both men headed out of the
room. Beta had is duties on the bridge, Kael would head to
engineering to check in with the yard duties officer. First he
would need the status report from his ops officer::

he ran a quick inventory of things he would need to go through before
the meeting with commander parker. He was beginning to think this job

anything for you to do prebrief ... so you have the
run of the ship. Run into anyone you want, I have

::Megan had just finished talking with Beta and Kael.
She moved to the replicator to get a cup of tea when
the door chimed.::
PARKER: Enter.
::In walked her Chief Science Officer .. one of the
most important people on the Science Vessel Aurora.::
DOMINUS: response
PARKER: Glad you see you made it over from the

my science department.
DOMINUS: response
PARKER: Have you had a chance to visit your
department?
DOMINUS: response
::She moved to her desk with her cup, urging the
Vulcan to sit.::
PARKER: Well, you will notice that this ship is built
around your and your crew. There are two stations on
the bridge for science, we carry no holodecks ... all
that space was given to science, and you'll be
allocated as much time with the computers as your work
requires.
DOMINUS: response
PARKER: Now for the hard part. All that means that
I'll be asking alot for your and your department ...
daily. Your people will get little rest when we're
involved in a survey and it will be up to you to keep
control.
DOMINUS: response
(OOC: I'll backsimm if necessary)
::After talking to Dominus, Megan return to getting
her office the way she felt more comfortable. Within
the hour ... her door again chimed.::
PARKER: Enter.
::The door slid open, and Solan stepped in, he glanced
around the room.::
PARKER: (Response if any)
SOLAN: Captain, Security is already well equipped, all
weapons are onboard, checked, and confirmed active. A
small amount of heavy ordinance will be transferred
aboard tomorrow. I intend to have a full security
contingent there, just as a precaution.
PARKER: A wise precaution ... even in port. What
about your other duties? I know you're covering twice
as much as you're used to from Vitory.
SOLAN: Yes, ma'am. Tactical is a little bit of a
different story. The ship's main phasers still need
to be retuned and realigned. I can get a team on that
immediately. We only have a small compliment of
torpedoes at the moment. The rest are still being
shipped from Starbase 112.
PARKER: You'd think they'd carry enough to equip us,
since we carry such a small number.
SOLAN: They should be here before the launch. Transfer
will take place immediately upon arrival.

personnel weapons had been loaded and stored. The heavier ordinance

would have a few small photon grenade launchers and grenades,
portable forcefield generators etc.
Solan had yet to inspect the Tactical systems. Birk had informed

personally, and it would take a lot of work.:: =/\=Aye, Commander.
I'll get it done. =/\=
PARKER: =/\= That will be fine, Parker out. =/\=
SOLAN: ::Solan quickly accessed the tactical database, and checked
on it's status. It was only a cursory check, the one he hoped to
receive from a crewmen later that day would be far more thorough.
When he was done, he hurried off to the Captain's ready room.::
((Time warp-Bridge))
SOLAN: ::Solan stood on the bridge for the first time. It was
smaller than the Victory's, but just as efficient. Solan reminded
himself not to compare the two ships. They were vastly different,
each with it's own pros and cons.
He rang the small bell outside the ready room.::
PARKER: (Response)
SOLAN: ::The door slid open, and Solan stepped in, he glanced around
the room. Commander Parker had already started personalizing it. He
smiled, humans were like that. It gave them a certain individuality
a lot of species lacked.::
PARKER: (Response if any)
SOLAN: ::Solan sat down and dove straight into his report.::
Captain, Security is already well equipped, all weapons are onboard,
checked, and confirmed active. A small amount of heavy ordinance
will be transferred aboard tomorrow. I intend to have a full
security contingent there, just as a precaution.
PARKER: (Response)
SOLAN: Yes, ma'am. Tactical is a little bit of a different story.
The ship's main phasers still need to be retuned and realigned. I
can get a team on that immediately. We only have a small compliment
of torpedoes at the moment. The rest are still being shipped from
Starbase 112.

place immediately upon arrival.

two hours and had been arranging his quarters and sorting the science
lab to his own specifications.
Dominus started making his way to the bridge he thought it
appropriate to meet Captain Parker and report for duty as he had done

:: Joshua and Romi exited the turbolift, his darted to the front of the bridge, the lonely console, at the front...a solem chair turned slightly to face the port 2 tier set of steps, There was one or two technitions making the finishing touches, the ship externally looked ready to go. Romi and Josh walked over to the back of the bridge, where Max was talking to Commander parker. He caught the tail end of their conversation. ::
Powers: Yes ma’am. I’ve been assigned to the Aurora.

Parker: So Mister Powers, you're my new engineer ... welcome aboard.

Parker: Even Commanders get nervous and excited ... but it's our job to maintain control so we rarely show it.

Harley: Freighters, cargo ships, that's it.
Parker: Well as helm officer you'll be getting alot of time at the controls here. Just try not to dent my ship leaving spacedock.

Harley: Like you two, I have to look over my workplace, I'll drop by later on.
Powers: Bye!
Harley: Catch you both later.

:: He walked up to the command stage, hoped over the safty barrier and looked at the MSD, he found the security office, which was on deck 3, as was Sickbay he walked into the turbolift and staed his destination ::

::The three green-as-can-be ensigns finished their
initial meeting with their new captain. Max was
impressed. She obviously had the abilities need to be
a captain otherwise Starfleet would not have promoted
her this far. But, and more perhaps more important to
Max, she seemed approachable too. He wasn’t afraid of
her. She wasn’t imtimidating. Ensign Powers liked
Captain Parker already and he knew that he would learn
a lot from her.::
::Ensign Powers was curious to find out what his
training classmates thought of their new CO but he
wanted to get down to engineering too::

:: Max turned and headed towards to turbolift. The
doors parted with the typical rush of air and Max
stepped aboard::
POWERS: Deck seven.
:: As the turbolift jumped into action there was
hardly any noticeable movement. It was so smooth.
The ride was fast but Max’s thoughts were racing
through his head the entire time. Not only was this
his first assignment, but in a way, it was the
Aurora’s too. This was to be her maiden voyage. Max
did not want to mess it up. It was going to be his
job to make sure that they could get wherever they
needed to get. He gave the ship power. He gave it
life. He didn’t want anything to happen on his
watch::
((Main Engineering))
:: The turbolift came to a stop and the doors parted.
Max looked out at the scene ahead of him. There were
still some Starfleet personnel putting finishing
touches on the ship. A few lights were still being
installed. Some of the panels were getting their
final tweaks before the Aurora pulled out of her dock.
Max could hear more work being done to engineering
but it seemed like only cosmetics at this point. He
knew that the bulk of the ship was done. The crew of
the Aurora was about to embark on the most exciting
journey of their lives and Max, for one, couldn’t
wait.::
:: He started to walk around engineering, trying to
get a feel for his new surroundings. Max wanted to
know where everything was. He knew that sooner or
later, and more likely sooner than later, his skills
would be put to the test. He heard somebody come up
behind him. Max spun around to see who it was.::
CRISTO: Oh I’m sorry sir. Didn’t mean to scare you.
::Max put his right hand over his heart and let out a
little sigh.::
POWERS: It’s ok. I was just lost in my thoughts and
didn’t expect anyone to be behind me. Who might you
be?
CRISTO: I’m Crewman Will Cristo. And you?
:: Crewman Cristo stuck out his hand. Max grabbed
it.::
POWERS: Ensign Max Powers. I’ve been assigned here to
engineering. How about you?
CRISTO: Well then, I guess I’m at your service. I’ve
been assigned here to engineering as well.
POWERS: Great. Have you had a chance to look around?
:: Cristo nodded.::
CRISTO: Yes sir I have. Everything seems to be just
about ready to go. As you can see Starfleet is just
putting the finishing touches on.
:: There was a slight pause as Powers looked around
engineering, trying to take it all in.::
CRISTO: Judging by the single pip on your collar I’m
assuming this is your first assignment. What do you
think about the Aurora?
POWERS: So far so good. The Aurora’s a little smaller
a ship than I expected to be assigned to, but I think
it’s going to be a great ship.
:: Their conversation was interrupted by his comm
badge.::
PARKER: response?
::Max tapped his comm badge to reply.::
POWERS: =/\= Ensign Powers here. =/\=
PARKER: response?
::A briefing. Max figured that the Captain would
explain a little bit about what she expects. Tell
them how she was going to run her ship. Maybe even a
little bit about their first mission.::
POWERS: =/\= Yes ma’am. Understood. I’ll be there.
=/\=
::Max turned back to Crewman Cristo::
POWERS: Well you heard the lady. I better get going.
It was nice meeting you Crewman.

any other way to put it. It hadn't taken long for his fellow
passengers to take the hint, and stop trying to talk to him. It had
taken the flight attendants a little longer, but they'd figured
things out eventually.
The transport was late. Correction: it was very late.
The Attendant walked by, asking passengers to put away any personal
computers or other things that could get thrown around if the
docking got a little rough. Solan knew the drill, he tucked his padd
into his case. That was all he'd taken out during the entire trip.
An Attendant came by to talk to him.::
ATTENDANT: Sir, I was asked to inform you that your baggage has been
found, it was accidentally transferred to a Berulian freighter at
Starbase 32. Unfortunately, the freighter was headed for the Gamma
quadrant, and passed through the wormhole just before we could
contact it . . .
::Solan winced in annoyance. All his personal belongings, everything
he stored in his quarters, en-route to the Gamma quadrant. That was
the real reason he was in a bad mood.::
. . . Federation Transport Services takes full responsibility for
this mishap, and we have dispatched a shuttle to retrieve the
luggage right now, but we're not entirely certain when we'll get it
back. Again, we apologize fully.

case, and withdrew the transfer orders. According to these, the USS
Aurora was at Docking Port C. That would be his first destination.::
((Time Warp-10 Mins Later))
SOLAN: ::Solan stood at the airlock as a fresh-faced Ensign
confirmed who he was.::
COMPUTER: State name and rank for voice print confirmation.
SOLAN: Solan, Lt. Commander.
COMPUTER: Recognized.
SOLAN: ::Solan received a nod from the Ensign, and he continued onto
the ship. He was immediately surprised by the sharp look of
everything, consoles flashing, bright lights, smooth silver-grey
walls. It was almost enough to make him forget about his lost
luggage.::
Computer, which way to the Security office?
COMPUTER: The Security Office is located on Deck Three.
SOLAN: ::Solan grinned slightly as he walked into a Turbo-Lift.::
Then take me there!
((Security Office))
SOLAN: ::Solan entered his access code. The ship was still on
partial lockdown, and would be until it launched.
The doors slid open to reveal a small, but efficient Security
Office. He moved behind the desk, and sat down in the large chair.
It was more comfortable than his old one. The desk was smaller, and
more of it was taken up with screens and readouts, as he was also
the Chief Tactical Officer on this ship. It would make for some
interesting times.
He stood and moved out of the office to the armory just a little
ways down the hall.
A guard was posted outside. Solan smiled, whoever had started
organizing the Security Protocols had done a good job.
The guard confirmed who he was, then let the door be opened, and
allowed Solan inside.
The Changeling admired the sealed weapons lockers and the
workspaces. Phasers could be cleaned, serviced, and checked, all in
this room.
He stepped over to a locker and opened it, rows of phasers were
encased there, Type IIs. Solan smiled. This ship was right on par
with the Victory for organization.::
BIRK: Alright, I've told you before, I'll tell you again! Stay out
of the armory!
SOLAN: ::Solan slowly turned around, looking to find who was behind
him. He found a Lt. JG standing behind him, his hands at his sides,
and a suspicious expression on his face. Solan didn't see a weapon
just now, but from the man's stance, Solan suspected he had one on
him.::
Lieutenant?
::Solan watched as the man suddenly straightened.::
BIRK: Oh! Sorry, sir! ::He snapped to attention quickly.:: I thought
another Maintenance Crewman was in here, I can't seem to keep them
away.
SOLAN: ::Solan raised an eyebrow.:: How did you know I was in here?
BIRK: ::Birk grinned an almost boyish grin, then pointed to the
weapons locker that was still open.:: That, sir. Whenever one of
these is opened, the Security Office is alerted. Just an extra
precaution we set up in our spare time.
SOLAN: ::Solan blinked in surprise. Ok, maybe they surpassed the
Victory in organization, if just a little.:: Very good. Lt.
Commander Solan, Chief of Security.
BIRK: ::Birk extended his hand.:: Lt. JG Simon Birk, Security
Officer. Good to have you aboard, sir.
SOLAN: ::Solan shook the man's hand awkwardly, and gestured for them
to exit the armory.:: I take it you're the Second in Command for
security?
BIRK: I am, Commander.
SOLAN: Well, then you're the person I need to talk to. I'd like to
get the Security and Tactical departments at full efficiency as soon
as possible. To that end, I'd like to have a meeting with all the
officers at 0800 tomorrow.
BIRK: You've got it, sir.
SOLAN: I'd also like a report on the status of both departments. Get
a full time Tactical Officer to do a report from his department.
BIRK: I'll get right on it sir.
SOLAN: Thank you, Lieutenant. I'm going to finish looking around.
BIRK: Sounds good, Commander. I'll get those reports done.
::Solan and Birk parted ways, Birk back to the Security office,
Solan to tour the rest of the ship.
Birk stepped into the Security Office, and continued into the brig
where a Tactical Team was just finishing aligning the forcefields.::
CREWMAN1: Who was in the armory?
BIRK: ::Birk winced visibly.:: The new Security Chief.
::The team laughed.::
CREWMAN2: Give him a scare, did you?
BIRK: I must have, I got assigned a full status report on Security.
CREWMAN1: Ha! Have fun. ::He started shoving tools into his case.::
I'm headed back to the Starbase, my shift is done.
BIRK: No you aren't. ::Birk got a confused look.:: Chief assigned a
full status report on Tactical too. It's all yours. ::Birk
grinned.:: Oh, and by the way, there's going to be a Staff Meeting
for Tactical and Security personnel, pass the word around. He wants
the report before the meeting, have fun.
::Birk grinned at the dismayed look on the crewman's face, and
walked out. He could write up the Security Report real quick, it
wouldn't take long. Then he'd go back to the Starbase and get
something to drink before the meeting tomorrow. The Tactical report
would take longer, a lot longer.
He could only hope reports like this weren't a regular occurrence
from the Security Chief. He and Commander Solan would probably be
clashing quite a bit if it was.::

face.::
Zazou: Hello mother!:: Romi started in her native language::
Mother: Hello Romi, how are you?
Zazou: I couldn't be better, thank you! Do you remember I had to take the
final exam yesterday?
Mother: Yes, I remember.
Zazou: I'd pass! I just receive my placement. I am going to be stationed on
the USS Aurora. A friend of mine is going there as well. At leased that is
what I heard.
Mother: That is really great. But I'll have to go to work now, bye! Good
luck. I love you!
Zazou: I love you too, mother. Bye.

Computer: Channel open.
:: Once more the screen in front of Romi started to turn into a face. This
time it was Joshuas. ::
Zazou: Hey Harley! How are you?
Harley: [response]
Zazou: Glad to hear. Everything is fine here aswell, thank you. I heard you
were going to the Aurora as well?...
Harley: [response]
Zazou: Well I thought it would be a fun thing if we went together.

Zazou: Great! Our shuttle leaves at 1400h. See you there. Bye.

The latest in science vessels. Equiped with
state of the art sensors and science labs::
::This was a bit of a jump from victory for Kael.
Victory was some 3 times larger than the Nova
class Aurora. Kael always did like his ships larger
than smaller. Nevertheless, Kael was coming aboard
with several crew members from his previos assignment.
HIs former chief tactical officer Lt cmdr Solan.
Well proven and more than capable of all
situations; as you would expect a changling to be.
Lt cmdr Beta Chief engineering officer of Victory
was also coming aboard Aurora. Being an

to the best of his abilities. Dominus, Chief

such as this::
::Hand picked by Commander Parker herself
Kael had the upmost confidence in all of them.
Commander Parker was always someone the
Victory crew looked to for advice and guidance
and that was no dififerenet for Kael. Parker
had always been a guiding figure for him. No
he got to serve under her, as a senior officer.
Kael was honoured just to be asked. Being more
than pleased to be Chief Operations officer onboard
he would enjoy the great responsibility he had::
::Looking around, Kael noticed many last minute
changes, repairs and calibrations going on. Kael
noticed starfleet always seemed to be running a tight
schedule. Looking around the bridge, Kael heaaded
to his ops console. This would be Kael's position
on the bridge. It was a large console, not that Kael
found it daunting, he would just have to get used to
where everything was located. Kael brought up a
quick scan of active systems. Warp was being
re-aligned, impulse engines were up. All othere
systems were operational. It looked as though
aurora might be leaving on schedule. Kael noticed
beta was onboard. Kael decided to check in with
beta. Perhaps he would like to tour with him::
::Leaving the bridge, Kael headed to his personal
quarters. His items were yet to arrive, but that was
of no concern. He took a quick look around. Being
Lt afforded Kael slightly larger quarters than he was
given on victory. But Kael never really did spend much
time in them anyway. Leaving his quarters, Kael
headed to Beta's::

his violin. Beta it appeared had more talent than

:: Beta stood on the bridge it was empty now but would fill up soon.
Beta recalled earlier that day when he arrived after Cmdr. Parker.
The ship seemed small but it was a change from engineering where he
used to spend most of his time on the victory. Some things where
still being worked on by Star base personal, but she would be ready
to go in time that was for sure. He moved over to the Ops console
reconfiguring the misaligned sensors hopefully making some one
else's job easier.::
o0 What a most interesting ship. I do believe that this will be a
most enjoyable adventure. 0o
:: There was not much else to do on the bridge so he decided to
escape for now to his quarters.::

::Beta arrived in his quarters, some of his bags on his be0d some
next to it, he paused for a second remembering this time almost last
year he arrived on the victory as an ensign. He began to unpack his

play it. So he started to play a tune that he had become rather fond
of.:::

:: After training Max was pretty excited. He felt
like he had done his best but there was still that
little flicker of doubt in the back of his mind.
Maybe there was something he did that Captain Waltas

done better. Or worse, maybe there was something he
*should* have done better. Ensign Powers worried
himself sick and decided to retire to his personal
quarters for the night.::

joy. He had worked so hard to get to this point. All

::Max had come to the bridge first. Max was impressed
by the ship. She was smaller than a lot of the other

who his commanding officers were going to be. He sat
down at the nearest console.::
POWERS: Computer, bring up the ship manifest. I’d
like to see the officers assigned to this ship.
