I have so much other stuff to paint, that I also use paper zombies -- mainly
OneMonk and Necropolis (from Triple Ace Games).

Just 30 days to MAG-CON (Dec 11-13).

This is a small convention, so we have to close registration at around 150
players.

Register at www.MAG-CON.com

If you cannot make it, please consider buying a day-pass to help us with the
fund raiser. This convention has no overhead, the owner of Homewood Suites
Hilton donated all the gaming space so that we could use this convention as a
fund raiser. The charity mission is “Purple Pinkie,” a Rotary Club
immunization effort to eradicate polio in 3rd world countries where the disease
continues to persist.

Thanks and hope to see you at MAG-CON.

Having given most of my 25mm figures and buildings away many years ago, THW got
me back into collecting again.

What determined the scale I'm now collecting in is the availability of 1/100th
(15mm) scale Flames of War figures/vehicles and Old Glory WWII stuff. But what
actually locked it in is buying 15mm Resin buildings.

Because since Ed advertised (and gave the discount) to Rebel Miniatures, I am
also transitioning into 15mm ATZ & Post Apoc.

And yes, HO really helps supplement 15mm terrain & props.

- John Paul

As far as paper chit figures, I used them with The Fantasy Trip when it first
came out in the late '70s. It was hard for me to convert to D&D lead figures:
the hex maps were so useful. What finally changed me was I converted hexes into
inches and got off the map.

I've also used paper minis from One Monk (http://onemonk.com/Home.html)and from
the Paper Warrior (http://www.thepaperwarrior.com/). I use cardstock because
I'm on a budget and because I can make a mini whenever I need it. That being
said, I did just purchase some 15mm minis for ATZ from rebel minis. In fact,
I'm working on reducing WWGs Mayhem set in 15mm just to get more playing field
for the space that I have.

I had the same issue, my kids and all their friends were always nagging me to
play D&D but I hate the rules, they are just too complicated. Then I found the
WHAA rules and played them with my kids and now all of them including their
friends are immersed. I have not heard a single word about D&D since we started
playing WHAA.

They have been watching me painting and creating the soon the be ATZ world, and
now they pestering me about when we will be starting ATZ! I am really looking
forward to it, I think it will become a favorite around our place.

I am not into historical modern warfare from the mid 20th and to the early
21st centuries, but i do buy, convert, paint, collect, and play with soldiers
(and vehicles to a limited extent as well) using sci-fi, horror, post
apocalyptic, and "modern" worlds of mine own and that of others. all in the
one true scale _ 28-mm_!!!!!!

yesterday, i wandered over to TMP, and found the new advertisement from REDSTAR
MINIATURES for the 28-mm CHECHNYAN WARS RUSSIANS.

i really like the way these guys look and are posed, and in particular i like
the clever modeler who folded over the RTO's antenna (so as not to scream RTO as
loudly as an upright antenna does). all of these guys have the "stuff sausage
look" of soldiers fighting in winter conditions who are wearing as many layers
of clothes as they can latch onto to keep warm. body proportions, faces, and
weapons look normal too. anyway i can see some of these being bought with next
years toy funds!

Hey, it's all about playing games whether D&D, GW, or THW.
