To everyone on all of the email lists that I run:
Egroups, the service that provides the email list services, recently
announced that they are merging with Yahoo!. I've copied their message
below.
Some of you may have concerns regarding privacy, spam, change of addresses,
etc. Based on what I've been able to find out, there is probably nothing to
worry about. This much I do know:
o The email addresses for the lists will not change.
o The service will continue to be free to both list members and list
owners.
o I don't expect any degradation of the anti-spam features of egroups.
o There's a lot of details yet to be worked out.
If you have any questions, you might want to look at the announcement
referenced in the message below. There's also an egroups list that is being
used to discuss the upcoming merger with officials from both egroups and
Yahoo!. If you subscribe to that list, expect over 100 messages a day. The
list can be accessed at http://www.egroups.com/group/Merger
