Actually I had often wondered whether Clan Names obeyed different
rules - I hadn't come up with your word "unitary," but I imagined a
similar concept - so I appreciate your clarification. Do Legion
sobriquets behave similarly, so that "Sapphire Kirtle" would be
/paletldhumala(kh)/ or /niqomikh hipaletldhumala/?
I would guess that Clan Names are standardized throughout the Empire -
at least in formal usage. Is there dialectal variation in informal
speech (Dzitla is a Mreluyani lass)?
