It is with no little sadness that I have decided that I
cannot continue to run this game. I just cannot get to a computer on
a regular basis, and it isn't fair to keep you folks waiting for
weeks, and even a month for a post. I have decided that I have to
put this game on hiatus. I hate to do this, but I just can't seem
to meet my responsibilities as a GM.
I do feel some responsibility to reveal the last details of
the scenario, since we have already passed the "official" end of it
anyway. This is told in semi-historical language.

Since the arrival of Sister Juliet's "bosses", she was
chastised for her "Tomboyish" ways, and was forced out of the
action, to return to her mission. The Mother superior was a cruel
taskmaster, and gave the grown woman a swift whipping, and made
Juliet, as a penance, to revert to wearing the customary black and
white habit. This came as a very stunning sight to anyone who knew
her, as she continued to visit the town for the next few months.
After months of this harsh treatment, and inept mismanagement of the
mission by her superiors, she left the Order, setting out on her own
to look for adventure, to do good deeds, and to try to help the
mission, which became increasingly difficult under its new lead. Now
free of her chastity vows, she also decided that she could now look
for "Romance", but was caught in a perplexing dichotomy. Because of
her personal piety, she would never be "Loose" with her "favors",
but on the other hand, her adventuring free spirit could never be
confined to the "Married life". She eventually moved on in search of
these things. Her fate is unknown…

Ol' Rube was out of action for the next month, until his
head injury completely healed. After that he was right back to his
old tracking ways. Some years later, in a radical departure from his
normal line of work, he threw in his lot with two ancient
miners: "Two ol' friends of mine" as he said. The three of them
struck it rich in a silver mine, and the two old miners became
respectable businessmen. Ol' Rube never changed his ways, and
remained a grizzled tracker until the end of his days. Not until he
died in 1902 (at the ripe old age of, you guessed it, 102!) did
anyone know just how very, very rich he had become-since he had no
heirs.

The surviving Carson's, Mathew, Luke & John, settled down to
lead a "Law abiding" life. But after a few months, a Pinkerton
detective arrived in town, investigating/accusing them of being the
ringleaders in a train robbery a couple of years before-about the
time they arrived in Deadwood… after months of harassment, the
Carson's filed an official complaint with the agency, and Sheriff
Bullock ran the agent out of town. The train robbery case was closed
buy blaming it on Mark Carson, the dead brother. No money was ever
recovered.

Seth Bullock only stayed on as sheriff for the next four
years, in which time he earned a reputation as `stern but fair'. He
gave up this job in 1879 to start up a ranch. "There's nothing let
for me here," he said.

Ben Franklin of the Franklin Hotel recovered from his wounds, and
had no complications from them whatsoever.

As for the "Great Claim Jump", the hero's had a Heck of a
time getting any information from the Chinese community, since they
never spoke English when questioned by "Outsiders". All the
questions came too close for "someone" however. After a brief
respite, the mysterious little dark "creature" attacked the heroes's
in the privacy of their own rooms-again! After a terrible, running,
violent battle, in which the lithe little imp managed to put a
physical beating on each hero the likes of which they never
received, this "person" was cut down in a cross hail of gunfire.
Unmasking the assassin, the hero's discovered to their shock (and
horror?) that this fearsome warrior was nothing more than a young
Asian girl. The little gal lingered on to life for days, pestered by
the Sheriff for answers. Finally with her last breath, she literally
coughed up the name… "William Chang". Of course "somebody" had to be
the brains of this whole operation, the "Brains" would not have
taken Fritz's horse back into Deadwood (it was discovered at the
stable…) Over those last days of life for the not-so-loyal-would-be
killer, the Hero's were the brunt of too many laughs and jokes for
being given bumps, bruises, and black eyes by "a little `Chink'
girl". Naturally, the identity of this black clad, odd-looking
killer has never been established.
With this final clue, the Hero's, with the Sheriff right
behind, steamed directly for Chang's Laundry. William Chang decided
that he had better not face the "due process of Law" on the
frontier, after all, would they ever put him in front of a jury of
his OWN peers, those who understood the Machiavellian politics of
his native country?
When the whole conspiracy finally leaked out, and the miners
found out that the Hero's stopped the theft of all kinds of claim
papers, the jokes about the previous evening abruptly stopped-they
had all become Superhero's! No more walking around the street
without getting their hands shook. Meals and drinks were on the
house, or the miners! On the downside, drunken miners went on the
warpath toward the Chinese community, and the Sheriff did everything
to ensure that the new deputies did not quit right away.
As for William Chang, he did not last long in hiding. His
body was discovered in an alleyway, beat, stabbed, and shot to
death. If this was on purpose, or part of the mob attacks, is
unknown. His murder, and several other Asian slayings, were never
looked into, and never solved.

Milo Karseboom arrived back in Deadwood, and paid the hero's
for their work, even offering them the job all over again.

"Kentucky Pete", who vanished on the trail, was never heard
from again. It was rumored that for reason unknown, he simply stayed
on the train, and rode it all the way back to the blue grass of
Kentucky.

Sara, the little orphan with no name or past, was not
allowed to see Juliet after her break with the Church. She grew into
a long, tall beauty, doing the same sort of work that Juliet's
vacancy provided. She went on to marry a state senator. When she
died in 1950, she was surrounded by her family, including sons that
had served in both WWI & II.

And for Clay, Harlan, and Richey…well, as one last post
script, it would be nice if you could type a final good bye and let
me know what happened to them. More adventure? Respectable life?
Would and of them be brave enough to ask Juliet for a dance, or
more? It's up to you…

I'd like to say that it has been a rewarding experience
ridin' with y'all. We've been going for over a year, and logged over
a thousand posts, maybe two thousand. I'll be staying with this
group and if I ever get to a regular Internet source, I'll be
lookin' to restart-probably with the same PC's.
And with that, I'll ride off into the sunset. Happy trails!
