Undaunted, and in fact quite thrilled, by the notion of horrific
evil on the other side of their room door it was all Fox could do to
open it before he nearly burst with excitement. He barely heard
Camia say his name, and in his mind it was filled with as much
excitement as his own, rather than the stress that might have been
there. "Evil? Oh how exciting! Do you think it's a dragon!?"
Too caught up in his joy at the thought of meeting a dragon
(hopefully a red one!) the idea that a dragon would never fit inside
a bedroom hadn't occured to the Kender. Instead he eagerly flung the
door open and dodging Camia's grasp with a quick sidestep, rushed
into the room turning his head this way and that looking for the
dragon happily.
He found a dark, empty, and somewhat dingy room. Heaving the candle
the innkeep had given him up to eye level and putting a hand between
the light and his eyes Fox inspected the room as Camia stood
tentatively at the door. After hearitly checking the corners, then
under the beds, and finally in the drawers of the small writing
desk, Fox's enthusiasm waned and he glanced at Camia for the first
time since he had entered. "No dragon.. How often do you feel danger
anyway?" He gave her a skeptical look.
Setting the candle down on the desk beside him, Fox started to close
the open drawer before him. "Hey, there's a false bottom in this
drawer.. Camia look, I found--" Fox's voice stopped as the candle's
light blew out suddenly and before Camia could take a step forward
to grab the Kender's fingers away from whatever it was he had found,
the door to the room slammed closed before her leaving her on the
landing alone.
OOc: You always end up dealing delicately with the Kender don't you
Onyx? LOL Have fun with that Raist and Riverwind, a chance to flex
those creative brain muscles you have. No, no need to thank me. Your
happiness is thanks enough.
