Re: Some rules regarding characters, addendum

I also want to add that it is optional how many characters you want
to play. I, myself, have dared to control several characters at the
same time in the past (under my main Yahoo ID), and have also
written from the viewpoints of a couple of different characters from
SEPARATE Yahoo ID's. The trick in the latter is not giving away that
you are really the same person as the other ID! On the whole, unless
you are a skilled writer, I don't recommend having more than one
character, though. It becomes too easy to only interact with your
own characters to the exclusion of everyone else and the storyline,
too. Plus, it can become VERY time-consuming!

Just remember: interaction with the characters of OTHER people is
vital to our club.

Also, if you become too busy to continue to write for your
character, please find a way to write him or her out of the story.
If they are not, we will probably find a way to remove them for you.
Consider, too, that if you write your character out on a good note,
you can always have them jump back into the story when you have time
again!

Our usual method of writing is to post mostly for our own
character's thoughts and actions, and once you get to know other
players and how their characters act, you can likely even post
entire action or dialogue sequences between characters as well. Of
course, nothing major (or embarrassing!) should be done to anyone
else's character without their approval.

Above all, trust in the moderators to weed situations out. All three
of us are skilled writers and know how to lead a storyline along
while leaving openings for everyone's characters to react and
interact.

Your greatest tools are imagination, inspiration, flexibility, and
ingenuity - all the skills that will help your character to make it
through any given situation.

Any questions, please post them here or email me at
awb374@.... Have fun!

Salutations,
Raist
