Firestorm sensed that all but her XO were now in the Observation Lounge, so she sent him a non-verbal reminder and walked into her personal turbolift and told the computer, "Observation Deck". In a minute it opened up and she walked out into a large room. She had re-designed this room to include both a board room for meetings and a small lounge/cafe for her and her crew. The more formal meeting place was her Ready Room behind the bridge. She was going to use that for diplomats, and visiting Starfleet only, from now on. Her crew were her family and
as such they deserved a less formal area to meet in.
She walked across to the replicator and ordered a tall latte. Her major imbibe from Terra. Picking it up she walked across to the small conference table near the main viewing windows and sat down. She took a sip and sighed contentedly. Just what she needed.
The doors swished open and her XO entered. He was apologetic for being late. As he entered an invisible forcefield lowered
into place securing the rest from any danger.

Finally she looked up and looked at her senior staff and said, "I hope you enjoyed your unexpected leave on Risa. But its back to the grindstone. We have new orders and they are not going to be easy ones. Our first order of business is going back to Outpost 87. Apparently on the Outpost is a hidden timeship. It cannot be located by conventional means, so I will need ideas
from any of you on how to find it and retrieve it. HQ has given me very little information and I am unsure if that was deliberate or not. However, that is not the problem, our headache begins with Admiral Warfield and Admiral Doruk. Both men are determined to find it for unknown purposes of their own. We have been ordered to retrieve it at any cost and return it to Starbase McCoy, which will be its new home. The second order of business which runs parallel to that, is that we have a shapeshifter aboard and it is causing hassles aboard. It has already killed two people, thankfully none of the crew. But two of the science team from the Dakarii System, who were aboard are dead. We do not know their circumstances or why they died and for what? Mr. Prescott and Mr.
Travis are looking for it, wanting answers. In the meantime I suggest you be aware of the problem. As this is a closed session, thankfully as soon as the last person to enter the meeting arrived -a specialized forcefield went up. I had it designed to both protect us from intruders, and anything else from overhearing plans made. Should the shapeshifter had found its way in here -it would not have survived the specialized forcefield." She smiled without any real humor.
Continuing she said, "However, be that as it may. It can change into anything or anyone, so I also devised a special device for your new communicators. " She took a bag out of her uniform pocket and handed them each a new Bridge
communicator.
She took off her old one and attached the new one. She looked around her at her staff and said, "The new communicators have the crew implanted transponder signals. The shapeshifter may be able to change into one of us, but it will not have the transponder. I suggest that you check everyone you come into contact with. If the comms does beep you will know that you have found our intruder. In which case contact Mr. Travis asap please. I want him off my ship and out an airlock door. No questions asked. Right any questions?"
