Hello group,
this is my first posting. My DM and I have been trying to agree on the number of
feats available to a half-celestial L7fighter/L1Divine Champion which is treated
as a L12 character for challenge levels. It seems kind of top-heavy although
I've gone through it a few times now. I am appealing to the board because of the
question of feats earned by virtue of being a half-celestial, and whether this
harmonizes with class feats, and level feats, or whether one of these are
replaced by half-celestial feats. The clause under the half-celestial doesn't
suggest so but the character may look overpowered although a 7th level fighting
in 12th level campaigns, it's kind of iffy. The Monster Manual p214 column A
says, "Feats: Half-celestials have one feat for every four levels or the base
creature's total of feats, whichever is greater."
I must assume the latter part means 'every four levels or (for every four of)
the creature's total of feats, whichever is greater.' If so, then in my case,
the total of feats eventually becomes greater.
So am I right in presuming a half-celestial character gets feats for:
-race (as per Monster Manual)
-class progression?
-*and* level progression?
e.g.
1-Ftr L1
1-FBF (fighter bonus feat)
1-FBF L2
1-Ftr L3
1-Celestial(as per p.214 of MM)(this is used to get the ability to fly)
1-FBF L4
1-Ftr L6
1-FBF L6
1-Celestial
=9 feats for a FtrL7/DCL1 (played in 12th level campaigns because of the
half-celestial race)
to be attained at 2nd level Divine Champion:
1-Ftr feat as per Divine champion class feature, FRC p.43
to be at 3rd level Divine Champion:
1-Celestial?
Thanks in advance for any clarification
