This is a serialized interactive fiction group based in the Star Trek universe…the year is 2387. The USS Ranger is a pure warship built and bred for combat and defense and was added to the Far Point Fleet as a Tactical Interceptor. As a first responder, the Ranger can be dispatched to potential trouble zones and/or intercept and slow down (or stop) potential enemies while the rest of the fleet mobilizes. Being a Prometheus class vessel, the Ranger can also act as an escort, whose role is to keep up with a convoy, and sprint ahead to meet any enemy threat in order to keep the convoy safe should the need arise.

The USS Ranger is named after the famous Texas Rangers of Earth’s 19th Century. Like the Rangers of old, the USS Ranger patrols the frontier of the far reaches of the Beta Quadrant between known space and the Delta Quadrant.

The Ranger is currently under command of Lt. Colonel Camber "Gauge" Daphos of the Starfleet Marine Corps.
