Well, we've made it to 2009. We will start off with attending
Cryptic ConFusion this January. Not Much in February at this point
but we will be at StarCon in March which is expanding to a 2 day event
which will be exciting.
April will hopefully find us at Furry Connection North. May
begins with PenguiCon and may end with MediaWest Con. June should be
MichiCon but the info on the dates on that one is pending it also has
JAFAX at the end of the month. July has Northern Michigan Anime Con-I
highly recommend it.
August and September are currently empty with October boasting
both ConClave and YoumaCon. Hopefully we will make it to ConClave
this year. But our schedule will be directly affected by how things
go at the previous conventions. The better we do the farther in
advance we will be able to book and with conventions it is a first
come, first serve.
As for resolutions, I think we'll be focusing on what we are at
the conventions for and trying to avoid what we are not there for.
Despite wanting to help with the planning and stuff at some of the
conventions last year we ended up being too tied up or caught in
things over our heads.
So although we are going to finish out our duties as best we may
this year, I expect that we will streamline more at the end of it and
try to focus on being dealers and running a few games or hosting a
panel where appropriate but we won't be doing as much active event
planning as last year.
Although we aren't at conventions to "enjoy" them per se (an
important thing for us to keep in mind), we do need to have a pace
that is reasonable for human beings to keep. That is to say, not 24
to 36 hour straight stints. We will be attempting to organize things
so that we won't die this year. ;) We look forward to seeing
everyone and working towards our goal of a storefront still.
Hopefully things will level out in the economy so that we can know
what to expect.
Seeing K-B Toys and Circuit City fail this year is disturbing.
And those are only a couple of the big stores that have failed. This
doesn't touch the many small ones. And of course the cutbacks at GM
are not helping us at all. But we will persevere on. We have been
here before and we can survive. Good luck to everyone this year.
