Ok. I got completely lost with where the assassination thread went far
far off any understandable course. And basically didn't post because I
had no idea where anything was going.
The end of Rob's last post was, I think, meant to start off a new
mission...but didn't give much direction and no one was posting
themselves back to FORTUNE for a new mission. So I'll admit that I
didn't do so myself. I've personally been going through a long dry spell
in my writing and finding it hard to get anything coherent out.
Rafe's Woren/Lehhren post confuses me greatly. The Worren absolutely
have artificial gravity technology. You can't have warp drive without
it...let alone a much more massive manipulation of gravity: an
artificial wormhole. The Woren also control a largish interstellar
empire by force of arms. So, less technologically developed than the
Federation or not, they are a major power -- particularly in the
Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy. (Yes, the Woren are in another
*galaxy* albeit a satellite galaxy to the Milky Way.) The Federation
also considered them enough of a threat to build Starbase Foothold to
secure the SagDEG end of the wormhole connecting Federation space and
the region near the Woren Imperium.
The Woren have no presence in the Milky Way galaxy and can't create a
wormhole long enough to reach the Milky Way. They did invade at one
point, but were thoroughly repulsed. They have had no previous contact
whatsoever with the Gorn. And I can't imagine quite how they'd get past
Starbase Foothold to enter they Milky Way and establish contact with the
Gorn. They are, however, at war with the Lehrren, something that the
post contradicts.
And I have no idea what the Woren could have to do with Section 31. I
suppose that it is possible that Section 31 is playing around in a new
galaxy. But there have never been any threads to hint at this.
Again, I'm lost. I have no clear image of what went on in finishing up
the last mission and no idea where the unit is headed. I'd love to at
least try to write something, but I can't help but feel that no one is
on the same page.
Jeff.
