making a living testing games is not uncommon. Thousands of people are being
employed every year on positions that require no more than a decent computer and
an Internet connection. They are called game testers and their job is to make
sure that the games that they are offered work properly.
A beginner game tester usually makes between $10 and $15 an hour, but can
quickly get to $30/hour, after gaining some experience in this field.
Professional game testers make about $70-$80 an hour, but it takes a lot of work
and commitment to get there. (Tip: Don't trust websites claiming that beginners
will make at least $100 an hour from testing games. It is simply impossible.)
Because of its increasing popularity and the conditions it offers, more and more
people are willing to get a job in game testing. Here are some basic
requirements people need to fulfill in order to succeed working as a video game

Because of child labor laws, every game tester must be at least 18 years old.
This is obviously not a very demanding job, but we all have to respect the law.
You must love gaming! I guess this is not usually a problem in this field, as
everyone enjoys playing and making money.
You must understand that this is still a real job, even though sometimes it may
not seem like that. Everyone can make $20 an hour from game testing, but it
takes a lot of work and commitment to break a higher mark. Experienced testers
usually make about $50 an hour.
People also need to understand that it takes more than passion to get hired by
big companies. Previous experience is usually demanded when applying for the big
names in business, but this is not hard to achieve.
