This group is to be meant as a meeting point for fans of tactical miniatures games, hoping to share our love for what they have in common as well as what makes them unique.

A tactical miniatures games is a hybrid game between a board and a miniatures games, as it can use miniatures, chits or cardboard cut-outs to represent the playing pieces; playing just the same regardless of which of these 3 options is used.

The game is of tactical nature, giving that each of the figures played represents a single character and the decisions made involve it's movement, line of sight, which weapon to use and how to fight. It lets you choose in great detail what this single unit will do and how it's done.

The game is played in a board which may have a grid of hexes, squares or circles; and it usually depicts an indoor facility such as: dungeons, castles, fortresses, secret labs, sewers, etc.

The object of the game is either to win a set number of points or complete a mission or scenario; the game could be win by wiping out the opposing force, however, this is not the primary objective.

This summary excludes games which primary objective is wiping out the opposition (Star Wars miniatures and Heroclix, per instance); games that depict sports rather than battles (Dungeonbowl and Grind); regular miniature games (Confrontation and Warhammer 40,000, per instance); role-playing games (Dungeons & Dragons, Descent: Journeys into the Dark).

As a result of this description, the group will deal with the following games: Hybrid, Space Hulk, Tannhäuser, Dungeon Twister, MageKnight: Dungeons, Okko, Cadwallon The Boardgame, Hour of Glory, Incursion, Claustrophobia.

The activities of the group will include discussion of the games as well as posting of photos, rules, variants, new rules and characters. It strives a repository of knowledge for these games, the best place to be as it also challenges it's members to be creative.
