Thought I'd mention that for anyone with an interest in such things,
the discussion board at AFV News (www.activevr.com/afv) has recently
included photos of the real-world vehicles that inspired the T2K LAV-
75 and fictional "Giraffe" M1A2. Lots of pictures of the LAV-75,
which apparently still runs and is (I think) demilitarized and in
private hands. It appeared to be in very good condition. The M1A2
pictures were from a track park at Fort Knox, I think, and it is
looking quite a bit worse for the wear, but has the remote turret,
etc. (though it looks a bit different than the T2K illustrations).
