Description

This is the archival home of an online, mostly freeform, role-playing campaign/historical simulation of the superhero genre, that chronicled the lives of heroes of an Atomic Age that never was as they protected and defended Disneyland City, southern California, and the world.

The intent of the campaign was as follows:

- To depict the superhero genre through the lens of realism (like Marvels),
- To present the superhero genre in a generational context, with real time passing (like Generations),
- To avoid the pitfalls of mixing realism with pessimism (like Watchmen) by stressing the positive effects of superheroes on a "real" world, and
- The merging of the superhero and Disney mythos was done (besides the fact I'm a fan of both) in order to promote a family-friendly atmosphere for the campaign (though, to be honest, there is much PG-13 violence in the archives). Also, I think of Disneyland as the ultimate bridge between reality and fantasy.

This group is only mostly dead. The most recent related project has been writing two ongoing, monthly fanfiction titles for Marvel Lab set in Superland continuity - http://www.marvellab.com/fanfic/otherworlds.htm

The Old Fogey Griping Group
Hey guys, ... I may not have my hair anymore, but at least I don't need bifocals yet. Although it's radically changed the subject of our group, it's still nice

Re: Captain America's Post-Superland History
Have to close my left eye a lot in order to read. Bifocals aren't set for the distance to read a computer screen so I am either sitting as far back as my arms
