Hello everyone
Thought I'd post the category requirements up here for you all to see
as well as sending them out to the group organisers. We're just
finalising the design for T-shirts for this year and once we've got it
sorted I'll let you all know what it is. We will be taking preorders
for t-shirts so you can be sure to get one in your size and they will
cost £10.
Currently working on the pack with all the venue and accommoation info
in it so expect that soon.
See you all in a month or so!
Lucy
Category Requirements 2007
Open Boardgames
Everything will be provided so players need just turn up.
Magic
Saturday will be draft (probably two Planar Chaos and one Time Spiral)
so players should bring £7.50 to cover the cost of product.
Sunday will be a constructed type two tournament, details of what is
legal can be found on the Wizards website but I think it's everything
as far back as Ravnica.
We are still hoping this will be sanctioned but cannot guarantee I'm
afraid.
Non-Contact LARP
No word from the organisers yet, so assume not much. If they come back
to me with a specific costume theme etc I will get back to you ASAP.
40K
5 games will be played over the two days.
Armies will be 1500 points.
A Swiss system will be in operation to pair opponents after the first
game.
All army lists must be provided, typed, and including any required
points costs for arithmetical checking and be available for inspection
at any time throughout the day by both the judges and opponents.
Programs such as Army Builder may be used to produce army lists.
TWO copies of the army list must be produced, one to be handed in to
the organisers at the start of the tournament. If any irregularities
are spotted in the army lists, all points earned with the illegal army
will be lost and the list must be corrected.
Players must bring all relevant army books, FAQs, erratas, templates,
dice, tape measures and other equipment they require.
All official army books published before the 1st of March 2007 will be
used. Since the Dark Angels codex isn't out individually in shops
until the 10th, it will NOT be useable.
Any FAQs or Errata published by GW before 24th March 2007 will also be
used.
In addition, any non-superseded armies from Codex:Armageddon and
Codex: Eye of Terror are allowed. The non-superseded armies in
Armageddon and Eye of Terror consist of the Lost and the Damned, Space
Wolf 13th company and the Speed Freeks.
The Feral Ork army list originally published in White Dwarf and
currently hosted on the Games Workshop website may be used.
No special characters. This includes Phoenix Lords.
No allies. This includes Chaos Space Marine allies within The Lost and
the Damned, but not inducted troops in an Inquisitorial Army or Looted
vehicles in an Ork army. As guidance, if the "outside" troops are
listed within the army list section itself they're allowed. It should
therefore be noted that the trait "we stand alone" is banned for
Marine armies.
The painting scoring system will be synchronised with the Warhammer
painting scoring system. A short piece of text included with your army
list explaining the background/theme of your army may well help with
the "theme" scoring for painting.
The Sportsmanship will also be synchronised with the Warhammer system.
Additional scenario details may be added at the judges discretion over
the weekend.
Warhammer Fantasy Battle
Army points limit is 2000 points
No oW Allies (though pure DoW armies may be taken)
No special characters
5 games will be played over the two days
Scenarios will be played, the details of which will be provided at the
tournament
Rules in use:
All official GW Army Books released before 1st March 2007 will be used
Any FAQs or Errata published by GW before 24th March 2007 will also be
used
Storm of Chaos armies are allowed
Lustria armies are allowed, though they may not take the normally
compulsory special characters
Chaos Dwarfs and Dogs of War are allowed, using the most recently
published lists. Dogs of War may use Regiments of Reknown.
Scoring:
A Swiss seeding system will be used after the first game
Painting will be scored and there will be points added for including
background text about your army as part of the army list as part of
the theming category of the Painting scoring
Sportsmanship will be scored
Miscellaneous:
All competitors should bring two copies of their army list with their
name at the top. One will be given to the organisers and the other
kept by the player.
Players must bring all relevant army books, FAQ's, errata's,
tempaltes, dice, tape measures and other equipment they require.
Confrontation
Rules
Confrontation rules v3.5 will be used. A copy of the 3.5 addendum (2
page PDF) is available for download from the following website:
Confrontation 3.5 pdf. They are also available in the latest edition
of Cry Havoc.
Army List
Each player will have a budget of 400 AP to build an army of fighters
from the same people. Between 80 AP and 200 AP must be spent on
characters, and up to a maximum of 120 AP may be spent on War Machines.
No miniatures in the army list can have a Strategic Value greater then
200 AP. This includes the cost of additional equipment.
No Allies and Mercenaries are allowed, although Mercenaries can be
fielded as fighters of their own people.
No experience cards may be used.
Scenarios
Each player will play 5 games (Everyone actually gets to play everyone
else once).
Each confrontation will be played on a 4' x 3' board with scenery.
A common scenario objective, shared by both players, will be revealed
before the confrontation.
Each confrontation will last 6 turns, or 2 hours (including deployment).
Painting
The usual wargames requirements of at least 3 colours and based apply.
Additionally can you please mark the front facing on the base of the
miniature.
Scoring
Scoring will be a league (we don't need any of that technical swiss
stuff).
Miscellany
Please bring two typed copies of your army list. Along with a copy of
the rulebook, dice, tape measures etc and the necessary cards, and
counters you will require for your force.
Battlefleet Gothic
There will probably be 5 games.
Fleets will be picked to 1500pts.
All fleets listed on here are legal, but special characters (i.e.
Dar.... I mean Abaddon) are excluded.
We will be applying the 2007 FAQ, which will have precedence over any
previous documents.
Details of the painting marking will remain secret until the second
day of the nationals, mostly because gothic really struggles with
things like "three colours", or "properly based" but I will say that a
well schemed, coherent (or incoherent depending on forces) and
background centred fleet will score more than one which actively
clashes with its fluff...
Open Wargames
This year Open Wargames will consist of one major game and if
necessary some support games.
We will primarily be playing Dirtside II published by Ground Zero
Games. This is a tactical wargame in approximately 1:300 (6 mm) scale.
Four or five separate scenarios, all made specifically for the
nationals, will be played. The scenarios will range from World War Two
era up to using hovertanks, and feature various periods and settings
in between. There should therefore be enough variety of games even
when sticking to the same rulebook. The scenarios should be playable
in two hours or less, and the goal is to fit in three games each day.
As stated before, there should be no need to bring anything to play
inthis category. All forces are provided for the scenarios, as it
dice, stat sheets and so on. The one thing that may be useful is to
have alook at the Dirstside rulebook before the nationals. This is by
no means compulsory, the scenarios should be easy enough to just pick it
up. The use of the advanced rules section of the rulebook have in most
cases been avoided.
