Just thought I would post about my campaign tht I am running face to
face for my group.
They are attached to the United Nations and the characters can be
from any country that is a memeber of the UN. Each player (4)
regulars and 2 part time memebers, made three characters each. One
of the Players is nominated to be team leader for the operation and
the he get's the briefing chooses which one of his PC's he want's to
participate and then he goe and brief's the team and has final
decision on the team make-up.
Now for the zingers...once you have played one character you cannot
play him again until the other two have been played. But wait there
is more...I also have a stable of agents to choose from and the PC
may trade one of his characters for a "stabled" agent that now is his.
We have played two sessions and it has been a hit!
Thoughts jeers etc...
Fire away!

It is the skill modifier that is used for those skills. IE if your
INT is 17 then the modifier is 3. Your ranks plus three plus any
other modifiers are what give you your final rating.
INT is also what gives you your skill points to buy ranks with.

Hi Jorden,
It will be interesting to see what gets put together
about these and other groups. I would like to see
anything that is generated by anyone, and if it is
posted anywhere.
For now, I am designing a character I can use (besides
Steed) and I will try to get it posed on my site
sometime soon. 'Jack Wylde - codename Tarquin. Home
Office Faceman and Pointman'. Agency is unknown, but
British based so far. I am still working on figuring
out all the points and modifiers. It is more
complicated than I expected.
Open questions:
Has someone put together a simplified checklist for
calculating everything? Like, plug in modifier from
Constitution to figure out X, Y, and Z. Or, for X
modifier - it is A + B. I keep having to bounce all
over the book to figure out everything and there are
somethings I still haven't figured out. Some things on
the character sheet don't match the terminology used
in the book, or at least I haven't equated or
understood the terminology to be the same.
For skills, they are based upon Cha, Int, Wis, etc.
but it says to use 'Int.' modifier. Is 'everything'
based upon Int. modifier? Am I missing something
simple here? Am I alone in this confusion?
If this is something that should be taken off-list,
reach me at CalWestray@....
Thanks for any help!

Ah the legendary black & white when Steed was helping
a doctor, I don't recall the name but I do believe
thats how it started out.
Our man Flint yes I do have memories of that,
personally Im hoping someone will try to develop the
Man of Bronze... of course that might be a little out
of the way for spycraft.

Greetings,

I am signed into the AEG Forum as 'Steed'.
If anyone has done some character or NPC building based upon TV,

Thanks!
Hi,
I'm Greg Kouski... and while also new to this group, I know how
Egroups, now Yahoogroups (I so miss Egroups) work. The digest they
are speaking of is for people who get there mail from the daily
digest mode. This is a popular setting for people on a lot of lists,
as one list will send you only one email per day as opposed to
sometimes hundreds. So, look back in the message list and you will
find the referance in the messages of that day.

I have been reading through the rules, and it looks like it will be a
great game. I am looking forward to playing it. BTW, I'm new to
this board so I thought I'd say hello to everyone, and while I am
here I might as well ask my first "noob" question. I noticed that
some of the posts have references to digests in their subject line.
What are these digests, and how would I start getting them? Thanks.
I am about to start a PBEM online with the players as fugitives. There were infiltrating a drug cartel in Colombia and not only was their cover blown, but they also got their hands on some vital info that could end several Senator careers back in the States. It is one big race to clear there name with the help of a "ghost" named CARDINAL who only contacts them via phone, radio, CB, or other communication device. Each serial is based in a new town or city starting from San Diego to DC. It is kind of like the A-team, only with a mission to clear their names.

Your post came through fine, I'm not sure about the archives and the My Groups. This has happened to me a couple of times under other groups, but it usually fixes itself. Try unsbbing and resubbing and see if that rememdies the situation.

Just writing to say hello. I am the new guy on the list and would like to say that espionage games have always been my favorite genre. Don't have much to say right now, but would like to extend my hello's to all.
Robert P. Hanssen has been called one of the most dangerous double
agents in history, and will face sentencing next month for 15 counts
of espionage against the United States government. Hanssen's double
life was more far-reaching than selling secrets to the Soviets. This
double life extended to his marriage, his sex life and even his
religion.
Into The Mirror: The Life of Master Spy Robert P. Hanssen is the
upcoming book from New York Times best-selling author Lawrence
Schiller. The book, based on an investigation by Lawrence Schiller
and Norman Mailer, will be available in stores and online on April
30, 2002 from HarperCollins.

I have been reading it voraciously since I picked it up today. I am
trying to figure out the Mastermind rules, as I want to expand the
season based on the villain from "Back to Basics".

Well, its official!
Spycraft releases on March 25. Look for it in your stores, depending
on distributors, by the 27th, 29th, or April 2nd!
Maybe then we'll get some dialogues going.
Sorry people for not getting a livelier chat going on the group.
Since the book's not out for another few weeks we don't have all that
much to chat about, but here's a few ideas to get the game group
going:
1. Where will you be setting your campaign?
2. What sort of play group do you have? Are you already using the
Spycraft Lite rules and the character classes on the Series Archer
website?
3. Do you plan on playing in Series Archer, or your own campaign?
4. What adventures have you already run?
Here's my answers:
1. Archer. There's a group that are basically like the cleaners in La
Femme Nakita (the movie, not the TV show). Anyone know who Viktor is?
They are the guys who have to go in and clean up everyone else's
messes. They look to be quite a bit of fun!
2. Mixed. We'll probably have each class represented. We've played a
couple of times, and are having a blast!! I ran a demo a couple of
weeks ago where one of the Agents actually went rogue.
3. Mix of both. Will use SA material, but tweak it for my group.
4. The Back to Basics demo, twice and am using it as a springboard
into a mini series.

We've been through it a couple of times. When I talked with Pat at the
convention in LA he said that it wasn't intended as a demo (which is how
I've run it). So, a couple sessions for the game are about on target.
Did you run into any snags with it?

I am in the final chapter of running the "back to
basics" adventure from their website for my gaming
group. So far, the response has been nothing but
positive, and everyone is greatly looking forward to
getting the book.

Sorry I haven't posted anything to the list yet. I know the game
isn't due out for another month, but wanted to see if anyone has
played the Spycraft Lite rules available through alderac's website.
