This is a group to discuss playing turn-based, non-real-time, unmoderated, strategic/family/designer board & card games via a web interface.

Strategic (aka Family or Designer) games are sophisticated board and card games, with an emphasis on German or European titles. Examples include Settlers of Catan, Tikal and Puerto Rico. None of these, though, are available currently in a play-by-web interface -- if they are, let us know!

On-topic discussions would include announcements of newly available games for play-by-web, discussions on existing ones, and wishes for new ones. Currently allowed (at least until it becomes a nuisance) are opponent wanted posts and posts on technologies like Cyberboard, plus discussions of technologies and programming. Discouraged would be topics dealing with sites like BSW (BrettspielWelt) except in comparing the experiences there against a PBW experience.
