Re: [slammer] Defender vehicle by Shieldwall games

Hugh,
from the image on Sheildwall's site I'd say it looks
like a cross between a jetcopter gunship and ED209
from Robocop.
You could add a pylon and rotor disk(s).
Or it's tempting to borrow a pair of mecha legs from a
Battletech kit and stick them under the defender.
Or just leave it as is..

There are some guidelines for using transport 'copters
in Slammer Vehicle rules. As a gunship copter it can
deploy on table the same way, deliver it's fire power
and bug-out.

In this case, I would have it called in and directed
to the target by an officer on the ground. I would
treat Fire from the Defender at a ground target as
Indirect (see Explosives rules). Flyers are
notoriously careless of ground troops.
:o)

I will let you decide what the Defender is armed with,
it's your game. Salvo rockets, anti-armour missiles,
or auto cannon are all likely options.

Size is Large (target mod +3, Flyer -4)
Armour: Bulletproof (1D+2) much heavier and it won't
get off the ground!

As it appears to get all it's lift from two jet pods,
I would expect it to be very noisy and dusty. This is
not a stealth vehicle!

If you want to use Hammer's Slammers Powerguns, they
are Energy weapons, (1D+1 Small arms, 1D+2
Tribarrels).
Power guns discharge all their energy into the first
thing they hit. So any/all cover is treated as Hard
Cover for target modifiers. Not good for Jungle!

You can make up your own stats for Hammers Tanks and
Combat Cars.
Let us know what you come up with.

Regards,

Chris
