Wow. Sorry for missing this when you sent it, many moons ago.

I don't currently have any plans for more LWTJ material. *Maybe*
there will be more pantheon books at some point if I get bitten by
the bug. The sales of those don't really justify the research time
that would be needed, so it'd have to be a personal interest project.

That said, I'm definitely interested in hearing suggestions/requests!

I seem to recall saying confidently that it'd be out by mid-Jan, so I
have to put myself on the naughty step there. Other stuff keeps
intervening. I had clear time this weekend and was planning to wrap up
the text using the feedback I've had, but I ended up with a flu-like
thing instead. :p So it is coming, and it will be soon, and thanks
for being patient.

I can not help but wonder if there would be enough interest in a more
serious run at Fantasy. I love Questers of the Middle Realms. I would
just love to see you put as much detail in a more serious setting.

I have also seen a lot of discussion about Sci Fi gaming in the circles
I hang out in. Maybe a Traveller homage.

Aha! You might want to go to www.silverbranch.co.uk and check out the
new 'Jaws of the Six Serpents' section.

It's not a terribly detailed setting, but it did originate from people
saying pretty much what you just said.

There's been some talk of that on one of the PDQ game Yahoo groups, I
think, but I can't remember where. It was clear that it could be done
fairly easily - especially for stuff like Firefly or Blake's 7 where
personalities are more important than hardware. I was trying to avoid
getting sucked in - got enough unfinished projects!

Silver Branch Games takes the fan-favourite PDQ system into the realms of
sword-and-sorcery and the darker sides of fantasy.

- The PDQ core rules
- Additional rules for these genres of fantasy
- Setting outline for the land of the Six Serpents
- Notes on adapting for different settings

It's now available on RPGNow/DriveThru, with a pleasing trickle of sales coming
in already, and on Lulu. It should be on IPR in a couple of days.

PS - yes, I know the Silver Branch website is AWOL at the moment. It appears to
be an annoyingly well-timed hack. Talking to hosting company. Apologies for
inconvenience.

I've got the PDF. Will there be a hardcover? If so, is there any package deal

There is a print version, though it's softcover. Currently available through
Lulu, and about to be available at IPR where there will be a print+PDF package.

Introducing myself, y'all. Discover PDG while browzin' threw rpgnet. I hurt the
review on the quest of tho middlin' realm. hilarious. britz have best the
humor....

Sorry about that. I picked up some of the...slang?...of a particular zealot of
the old administration here in the 'states and found it more than unusually
difficult to rid myself of their odious language.

As I tried to convey above, I discovered Silver Branch Games while surfing
rpg.net for interesting reviews. I've always liked rules-light systems, with my
favorite to be the Fudge toolbox. PDQ is in the same vein and it's amazing at
its versatility. We're talking about a game here that covers the gambit of
genres superheroes to Alice in Wonderland to the latest, Sword & Sorcery (i.e.
Jaws of the Six Serpents).

Anyhoo, I'm off to purchase QMR & Jot6S over at drivethrurpg. Special and all
that. Definitely plan to bugger Mr. Gray about the games and others in future
posts ;-)

Tim,

Is there any chance QMR, Jot6S, Book of Bewildering Beasts, Character Assistant,
and Ten Magical Thingies could be all bundled together into some sorta massive
PDQ "fantasy" pack?

Trying to work out whether that was intentional or just a slip. I'll just be
staying over here to be on the safe side.

Glad you like the games though!

I have set up a bundle with the QMR and J6S corebooks at RPGNow/DriveThru. I
don't think it makes sense to include the others though, as they're
QMR-specific. You could use them with Zorcerer of Zo, perhaps, but their tone
doesn't suit Jaws. (Jaws actually includes the inspiration/suggestion tables
that are in the Character Assistant anyway.)

Yup. It's nifty.

Mainly, I wanted to put my own together because (a) I like the dragonbone font,
and (b) so I can create pregens and such.

Speaking of which, I was able to use the template to create a series of 10
pregens, using my Fiery Dragon Digitcal Counter collection to add a portrait to
each. I then did up a series of 22 mostly evil npcs.

I'm planning to run some Jo6S later this month at EndGame, and for once decided
to get ready in advance.

For what it's worth. I'm running my wife and son in a mashup of both settings.
The Jaws of the Six Serpents world is beneath the broken remains of the cloud
island retreats of the Sorcerer Kings. The S7S civilizations have the addition
of ancient ruins and history to delve in the clouds above. Below, the lands are
unchanged except the floating wonders in the skies overhead. It adds a bigger
background and interesting character options we're enjoying.

When you need to downshift a related quality, does the downshift happen before
or after the roll?

I would assume it happens AFTER the roll because if you take it before you loose
+2 to gain a d6, which (IMO) is not a very good trade off for the cost of a
fortune point.

The general idea was that you'd downshift a Quality you're not using in the roll
but that still connects somehow. In hindsight the logic of that isn't as clear
as when I was writing it, and one could see it as complicating the system
needlessly when you could probably make a case for throwing the MOD in anyway.
I'll be interested to see folks' thoughts on this as the game gets used. Other
FP options might be more popular.

I think you could rule it whichever way your group likes.

didn't get damaged on the way here like most larger stuff does. Will there be a
