I purchased Jaws of the Six Serpents a few weeks ago.
I play RPGs occasionally with 3 of my 5 daughters. My 7 and 9 year-old
daughters especially enjoy playing.
We've played ZoZ in the past with a more princess-like fair-tale setting, and
the children really understand and love the PDQ system. I love the system, too,
as it doesn't require a lot of time to "stat" NPCs or prepare adventures.
I've enjoyed JoSS's rules regarding magical and mundane gear, and the
explanation of the setting/genre have helped me come up with a few off-the-cuff
adventures for the girls. I like the way charms are handled, but I'm not sure I
have a good grasp on Sorcery yet. I'll post a new thread with my questions when
I have a little more time.
I'll also try to make the time to post an AP report on rpg.net showing how well
JoSS (and PDQ generally) work for fast and fun RPing that even children can
grasp.
P.S. My 11 year-old daughter prefers witty, humorous banter. Is there an AP or
other examples posted somewhere regarding QoMR - particularly, the off-beat and
humorous aspect of it?
