If the chance of resupplying is so low (17%) why even bother allowing
for it, its an unnecessary complexity - might as well stick with the
simple retire from the field out of ammo as previously posted...? If
it's realisitc to say the resupply on a 5-6 (i.e. 33%) its worth
modelling, but if the chance is less than 25% youa re really just
introducing a freak extreme result tothe game mechanics which would
only serve to produce an unexpected extreme on rare occassions...
As an aside an alternate, if really needed, might be to allow them to
fire in self defense if charged or enemy come within X" instead...
representing resorting to short range cannister/case shot which often
battery's would still have when their ball or shrapnel/shell ran out.
Means the battery can hold position to maintain it's place in the line
in an emergency, but can't actively assist attacks or defence by other
units...?
