((Sickbay, USS Tiger))
Ar'i: Very well. Give me a moment, and I'll be right back.
Z'Leah: Thanks...
Ar'i: It's my pleasure, Z'Leah. Sincerely.
::Theel left Z'Leah's bedside, to the sickbay replicator..::
Ar'i: Water.
::Nothing happened.::
Ar'i: Water, room temperature.
::Still nothing.::
Ar'i: Now!
::It was no use. The replicator did not seem to be working. Solok was away for
the mission briefing, as was Estrane. Besides, the less she had to rely on them
to solve her problems for her, the more they would respect her as a
professional. Nurses had enough trouble getting respect from doctors as it
was.::
::Theel went to the sickbay emergency stores, opened a packet of emergency
rations, and located the pre-packaged water inside. She brought the dull silver
tube to Z'Leah at the biobed.::
Z'Leah: Welcome back...
::Theel handed the tube to the Orion.::
Ar'i: I'm sorry -- the replicators seem to be out of order. All I could get you
was this, from the emergency rations. It's not going to be very good. It must
have been packaged ages ago.
::Z'Leah tried to smile through the pain.::
Z'Leah: Well, I try to look on the bright side...you say I'm going to walk
again.
::Theel smiled.::
Ar'i: Yes, you are. With a little physical therapy, of course.
::She hoped that wouldn't dampen the woman's spirits. Some people wanted these
things to be a lot quicker, and a lot easier, than they usually were.::
Z'Leah: When can we get started?
::Theel's grin widened. She was starting to like Z'Leah, very much.::
Ar'i: Once one of the doctors clears you, we can get started right away.
::Break.:: Do you feel good enough to be up and out of bed?
Z'Leah: <response>
::Theel chuckled.::
Ar'i: No doubt. I'd be more than a little antsy myself, if I'd been confined to
a biobed, too.
Z'Leah: <response>
Ar'i: Senior staff's in a mission briefing, but they should be finished soon.
::Break.:: Something's going on that I don't understand, really. We were in the
middle of negotiations with the Gorn and the Tholians, and then we're all of a
sudden beaming the Gorn off the Tiger and heading back to DS17, under tow. ::She
looked down at her hands, then back up to Z'Leah.:: I wouldn't be surprised if
we end up skipping leave this time around. I get the feeling that, whatever's
going on, it's serious.
Z'Leah: <response>
