((Holodeck 1: Wood's Symposium, USS Ronin))
((OCC: Going to change my responses a slight bit to fit in with what
you guys replied, also i'm not sure if this went out properly, so
putting it out again :).))
Wood: Ok then if we're done, you're dismissed and I look forward to
working with you all. Cmdr! Lt's. Kolk, Trell, may I have a moment of
your time?
::Daniel walked towards the two officers, who he hoped to begin to
have close ties with.::
Kolk: Sure.
Wood: I'm not sure if you are aware but yesterday was a proud
tradition on Earth called Armistice Day where everyone got together
and celebrated the lives of those lost in war time. I was just
wondering what you thought of maybe building a memorial to the
Ronin's fallen, maybe in the Arboretum or something?
Wilde: We were planning on holding something similar recently. We've
lost a lot of people this year and I believe Lt. Ehlanii was in the
midst of planning something along those lines.
Wood: Excellent, perhaps we should all convene once this mission is
over and talk in detail about it, and all ponder on our thoughts of
where it should be, how it should look, etc...
Kolk: I'd certainly be up for a chat like that.
Trell: ((response))
Wilde: I liked your style, Lieutenant. It seems we have a bit in
common. I too was CoS of the Independence and this ship not so long
ago. Do you go by Daniel, or are you a Danny at heart, too?
Wood: Glad you liked it, Sir; must admit I was a little nervous at
first. I'm a big believer in first impressions and all. In regards to
names usually it's Danny, but since there's two of us aboard, it
would make sense for me to go by Dan or Daniel, I have no preference,
I wouldn't want to be mistook for the First Officer just
yet. ::Chucking.::
Kolk: oO Hmmm, maybe I should start going by my full name, Jackford.
I've always liked it when random people use that name... Oo
Wilde: ::chuckling:: Very well. Now, onto business... about the extra
security staff. That's partly to do with the fact that we lost many
good people recently, and without them we would struggle.
Wood: Might I suggest something else there then Sir, I believe we
could be over crowded, what about bringing my Rapid Response Team
aboard, Starfleet's thinking of putting us onto ships together rather
than separate, it appears its more tactical that way? Its less space,
less hassle and more skill?
Kolk: Bring them aboard? I though you said we had too many already?
Trell/Wilde: ((response))
Wood: Well, you all know that they proved invaluable in the Delta
Quadrant and have also been invaluable aboard the Enterprise. Since
the Atlantis' mothballing from the fleet, the Ithassa region hasn't
got a Hazard Team, and what better place to have one then an Akira
class vessel, I mean that's what we do, right? We¡¦re always in the
front lines?
Kolk: Forgive me if I'm speaking beyond my purvue, but this seems
more of an internal Security matter. I'm all for a special Hazard
Team aboard, especially in light of the likeliness of more encounters
with the boarding-happy Grendellai, but either way, wouldn't it be a
strictly Security sub-team? Maybe something for your Assistant Chief
to oversee?
Trell/Wilde: ((response))
Wood: ::Looking at Lt. Kolk.:: I cant give up a command Lt. Alpha
squad is mine and I worked hard to achieve it, the 501st isn¡¦t a
particularly big task group, but maybe we could introduce a Delta
Squad into the task force and bring two small teams aboard, but at
least speak about it with the Cmdr?
Trell/Wilde: ((response))
::Lt. Wood turned his head and seemed to notice someone he wanted to
talk to.::
Wood: If you'll excuse me a minute.
Trell/Wilde: ((response))
::Jack nodded.::
::Daniel left the group for a minute, walking over to his new ACoS,
he began to speak.::
Wood: Everything alright Mr Shepard?
Shepard: Yes sir, I would just like to go over a few mission
details. It can wait until after your conversations with the
Commander and the Lieutenant sir.
Wood: Ok, we could meet in my Office at some point after the meeting
if you wish?
Shepard: Of course sir. Also I have something ... personal to
discuss with the CO briefly, with your permission sir.
Wood: Of course, as long as its nothing I could help with, remember
the chain of command.
Shepard: Very well sir.
Wood: Excellent.
Shepard: Sir, one last thing. I heard you mention a Rapid Response
Team? I tried to introduce one on the Constitution while I was
they'er CoS. I would like to be a member such a team sir.
Wood: Well the 501st is scattered all over the galaxy, that¡¦s what
were designed for, but Starfleet is trying to regroup us into local
areas. I¡¦m trying to get one aboard the Ronin, as it seems to be an
answer to our questions but whether it happens or not depends on what
our CO and FO say, however if you send me your abilities and why you
believe you should be on the team, I would certainly begin to
consider you, but there will be some rigorous testing to go through.
Shepard: Yes sir.
Wood: Excellent, well Lt, I shall hear from you soon I hope, in the
meantime wont you come and join in the conversation.
Shepard: RESPONSE
::Daniel left Shepard and returned to the original conversation, he
caught the tail end of the conversation.::
Kolk: I don't know who I'd suggest to oversee the department. I've
only just had the idea since the end of Wood's presentation.
Trell/Wilde: ((response))
::Daniel wasn¡¦t aware of the condition, but he would be sure to find
out, Daniel wasn¡¦t sure what was to happen with the extra Security
Personnel but one thing was for sure, he had to many, and they needed
to be placed somewhere. Suddenly the comm. Broke with the sound of an
ops officer speaking.::
Terrance: Lt. Wood you have an incoming message from Starfleet
Security.
Wood: Patch it through to the holodeck computer. ::Looking at the
group.::: If you¡¦ll excuse me a minute.
::Daniel walked over, activated the panel only to reveal a familiar
face, the pale terrain face bearing a red collar with three solid
gold pips upon it.::
Wood: Cmdr Jones, a pleasant surprise.
Jones: It is indeed, I bring some good news for a change.
Wood: Oh I am surprised.
Jones: Thought you might be. Starfleet Security has decided to accept
Lt. Umox¡¦s request to teach at the Academy and there for we have a
space opening for Bravo team.
Wood: Well funny you should mention that, because I have a one Lt¡¦Jg.
Jack Shepard wanting to join a hazard team.
Jones: Well I¡¦ll leave it at your discretion, I¡¦ve always trusted
your decision, but he¡¦ll have to go through standard procedures and
of course before you ask, yes since your qualified you may conduct
the necessary testing as you sit fit.
Wood: Thank you sir, I¡¦ll bare that in mind.
Jones: Oh and well done on your promotion, its well deserved, and I
hear chief, as well, you¡¦ll be soon coming into Starfleet Command and
commanding operations from here. ::Laughing.::
Wood: ::Laughing.:: Thank you Sir, oh I don¡¦t think that will be for
a while yet, I belong out here in the front lines.
Jones: Well you always were one for the front lines, recommendation
from an Admiral and all, it¡¦s hard to come by, any way I have to get
on with some admin, boring really, I do envy you at times.
Wood: My only at times, I am shocked. ::Smiling.::
Jones: ::Smiling.:: Well god speed Lt. Jones out.
::The screen went black and then switched to reveal the holodeck
controls, looking at the rest of the group, he¡¦d missed the
conversation and they were all just saying there goodbyes and
arranging the next meet, Daniel hadn¡¦t discussed the mission in hand
and remembered he was with Cmdr Wilde, Lt. Shepard, Lt Llewelyn and
Doctor Adair, they were tasked with planning an away mission to the
planet. They had to find a way to introduce the team into the
environment, and extract them, without notice.::
::Walking over to the conversation he spoke up.::
Wood: Cmdr Wilde when would you like to convene to discuss our
mission task?
((OCC: Thought we might need to start getting on with this?))
