OOC: Maybe we should be posting to this list instead of the OOC one...
btw, how many people do we still have around and able to sim?
((Holodeck 3))
Valis: Commander, I believe the Calippus has changed position.
Maria: Really? Where on the simulation is it?
Valis: It appears to have moved .0015 lightyears closer to HH36.
Maria: Not good, how does this affect our warning time?
Valis: That increases our time to intercept to 31 minutes, assuming
the fighters launched immediately after Lt. Kolk departed 3 minutes
ago. It also decreases the time to Calippus' destruction to 43
minutes 24 seconds.
Che'tara: They're moving closer?! I thought they were a science
vessel, haven't they seen the danger?
::At this point Cara's earlier thoughts were voiced, though she had to
bite down on a hint of irritability. Bets, bets and gambling, just one
of the things that had led her father to... Stop that thought right there.::
Maria: They must be too focussed on the bet. This is why I don't like
them, they make people lose track of important things.
::The simulation flickered again as one of the fighters' sensors
picked up another tiny glimpse of the other starship.::
Valis: Correction. The Calippus is now .0016 lightyears
closer than initially anticipated.
Maria: I don't think there's any doubt about it now, they don't see the
danger. They need the message.
Che'tara: The closer they get to the sun, the closer our fighter will
have to be to get a message across to them.
Valis: responses
Maria: Thank you, Che'tara? Can you plot a course please?
Che'tara: Aye, Ma'am.
:: The tall hybrid swung herself back to face her consoles, golden hair
flying around her shoulders. Her fingers flew over the controls
focussing in on the area of space between them and the Calippus. Pretty
soon, a red line appeared on the holographic display. ::
Che'tara: Currently, that's the quickest and safest route for the flight
to take. If the Calippus keeps moving in, though, that's going to
change. I can feed detailed telemetry from her to Flight Ops if it'll help?
Maria: Yes please, also, could you keep an eye on some of the
information coming in from the scans? We still need to collect
information from the fighters, try to look for any anomalies or strange
data.
Che'tara: Response?
::Her attention shifted to the Vulcan.::
Maria: Valis? Once you've finished going through please can you keep an
eye on where all our people and the Calippus are in relation to the
simulation? They'll need to know to compensate for energy and radiation,
not to mention that we were going to ask you mainly to assist with the
fighter data before the situation got complicated.
Valis: Response?
::Now all she had to do was keep an eye on everything, try not to worry
about everyone, look for anomalies and suspicious patterns in case
someone came to play and take good scientific measurements.::
::Yup, this was a simple Starfleet shakedown mission.::
