((The Wilde Estate - Infirmary))
Wilde: Well? What is it?
Twiford: Mr. Wilde, I believe we need to get your wife to Starfleet Medical as soon as possible.
Kolk: What!?!
Wulfram: <Response>
::Danny regarded the man. He turned to the nearest person near him.::
Wilde: Get Ben and Cara here. Now...
Kolk: =/\= Kolk to Walker and Maria. We need you at the Captain's bedside. Now! =/\=
Walker: =/\= On our way =/\=
::Danny kept his eyes on Idril as the rest of the infirmary buzzed around him.::
Twiford: Mr. Wilde, I believe we should speak privately. Detailed information about her case can't be shared with just anyone. You are her husband, right? Can anyone here vouch for that? After all, she just accused you of killing him.
Wilde: It's a complicated story, Doctor...
::Cara and Ben entered, and Danny faced them. He had to tell them what was going on.::
Twiford: Are these the people you wanted here? Because we really ought to clear out all non-essential personnel. It's getting entirely too crowded.
Kolk: We'll, uh... Come on, Ensign. Why don't we get out of the doctor's way...
::Danny nodded gently and watched as Jack led Seth out of the infirmary.::
Wilde: I don't know where to begin...
Maria: ::Slight smile.:: Please don't kill him Captain, that's our version. ::To Wilde:: It's good to have you back Commander.
::Danny offered a small smile and nodded at the Second Officer.::
Twiford: ::With a curt nod:: Thank you Miss. ::Turning to the newly arrived male:: I'm sure you understand my dilemma. Can you also tell me whether this man is this woman's husband?
Walker: :: Nodding toward Cara :: Based on her reaction, and his...I'm fairly certain.
Twiford: I suppose that is the best I'm going to get. ::to Danny:: If I could speak to you privately for a minute.
::They both stepped out into an adjoining room where they could speak privately. A screen allowed him to still keep an eye on Idril.::
Twiford: Your wife's kidneys are failing. My tricorder detected a rising blood pressure and a rising level of nitrogen in her blood. I also saw the beginning of crescent formation in the kidneys. I believe your wife is developing crescentic glomerulonephritis.
::Developing what? Medical classifications were lost on him. He merely shook his head.::
Wilde: Kidney failure? Is it fairly serious?
Twiford: It can be. That is part of the reason I would like to get her to SF Medical now. The bigger reason is that I don't know what precipitated it, and since diagnostic tools here haven't picked up the cause, we'll need more sophisticated equipment to discover the real reason.
Wilde: The nanoprobes should have detected any kind of trouble... unless...
::His mind was a whirr. Nanoprobes...poison...Trill biology... He was sure SF Medical would know the answer. After all, it was there he had the initial proceedure for the Implant anyway.::
Twiford: If we act quickly I believe her renal damage is reversible, but we must get her there now.
Wilde: We'll take the Patriot - my mothers shuttle - I don't want to risk Idril in transport. She doesn't respond well. I'll have Commander Walker clear all traffic to Medical.
Twiford: <Response>
::They went back into the room. Danny approached Ben and Cara as Dr. Twiford instructed Ro on what preparations to make.::
Wilde: We have to move her to Starfleet Medical - some kind of kidney complications. Dr. Twiford believes its reversable but we're prepping to move out now. This second.
Walker/Cara: <Response>
Wilde: I'd appreciate it if you'd let Starfleet know the situation. I'm sure they've got a lot of questions...
<Responses>
Wilde: No. That's not Starfleets call. In this matter I am the closest next of kin, which means I call the shots. No offense to you guys but we're not on the Ronin. We're in my home.
<Responses>
::Danny offered a small smile of encouragement and looked at Ben.::
Wilde: Then I guess you're in charge.
<Responses>
::Dr. Twiford alerted him that Idril was ready and Danny acknowledged with a nod. He turned back to the Command staff.::
Wilde: I'll update you as soon as I can. In the meantime my parents will provide you with accommodations and anything you need. You're our guests.
<Responses>
((Mini-Timewarp - The Patriot))
::Prepped and ready to go, Danny stood in the doorway as his parents brought him a packed back of belongings.::
Wilde: I'm sorry to have to steal your shuttle, Mother. You'll miss the Membership ceremony of Altar VIII...
Joanna: Oh that can wait, dear. Just make sure she's ok. And take care of yourself!
Sidney: Anything you need son...
::Danny nodded and offered a weak smile.::
Wilde: I know... I'll be in touch!
::He retreated to the front of the shuttle to take off and in no time they were speeding toward Starfleet Medical in the twilight.::
