((Arboretum, USS Discovery))
::With the tense moments past, Hannibal settled down and even allowed the
human to pet him, which was an unusual thing for the wolf. He still would
never admit it, but it did feel good. Hudson, on the other hand, would only
allow the touch of one person, and when the human reached for his talons the
eagle only allowed a brief brush. Hudson spread his wings and leaped into
the air, heading off into the distance with a screech. Hannibal watched him
go, then settled down next to Addie, the fierce maw that could tear flesh
again nuzzling under the chin of the little girl. He could sense the girl
had been through much in her young life, and had consciously appointed
himself as her protector. After a moment, Hudson returned, a rabbit clutched
in his mighty talons. Landing on the ground, the eagle put the corpse in
front of the larger human. He cocked his head at the response.::
BLUEHEART: response
::Seemingly offended, Hudson snapped the rabbit in half, leaving part for
Hannibal and took the rest to the tree to nibble on. The human continued to
talk to him and both accepted him as a harmless friend. Both were happy for
the company.::
ADDYSON: response
BLUEHEART: response
::To the animals' disappointment, the humans left, having some duty to
attend to apparently. Hudson gazed down at Hannibal. The wolf looked up at
him and barked, and the eagle screeched in return. They had made new
friends.::
