Everyone,

The use of the RPGKC Yahoo group was discussed at the November RPGKC meeting.
These guidelines similarly apply to the Guild's Facebook group and WotC
Community group.

The RPGKC yahoo group is for discussion and promotion of RPGKC game days,
conventions and other RPGKC hosted, sponsored and officially supported
activities. Non-members may join as a courtesy, at the discretion of the
moderators and officers. The moderators have full authority to moderate
discussions and take action when/as needed.

Promotion of non-RPGKC sponsored conventions, as well as store events, other
businesses and their related events are limited to ONE POST for informational
purposes (when/where/what). Continual updates and advertising are not allowed
and will be removed.

Coordination of Kansas City area non-Guild sponsored Living and other events are
allowed as a courtesy for participating Guild members. This is not for the
promotion of regular store-sponsored events (see above) and excessive use is not
allowed (as determined by the moderators).

The calendar is disabled, as it cannot be restricted to moderator use only (due
to yahoo group software limitations), and is not normally needed or used for
scheduled Guild functions.

KCGF was responsible for registration and administration, but the highest badge
number that I'm aware of was 276.

Something that hasn't been mentioned yet is that over $650 was donated for
Harvesters.

Phil,

It is a reasonable thing to ask for, but it's not reasonable within 24 hours
of the end of the convention. As a Guildmember, you'll get this
information when all of the other Guildmembers get it, and any reporting
will likely follow after the officers have had a chance to review
information with KC Game Fair staff. Our plan is to disseminate some
information on the convention in the December edition of the Guildletters.
Your request to have an attendance count has been noted.

And for the record, the comments on this group are not all intended to
satisfy your personal information needs or to accommodate your postures.
Sometimes, Guildmembers besides yourself actually communicate with other
Guildmembers besides yourself and it has nothing to do with you or your
personal business.

guldmember in good standing, this information is not a huge thing to ask
for.

I was pleased with many facets of the convention, including the guests, the

I'm not sure. You might want to discuss that directly with the Game Fair
(info@... <mailto:info%40kcgamefair.com> ). As we (RPGKC) were
guest and mostly responsible for
the Shauncon portion of the convention. We didn't run registration and don't

I'm not sure on that. What Sterling posted could be based off the same
information Andy and I have been responding based on, the numbers of tables we
saw playing, compared to last year. An eyeball estimate could get that
information i would assume he based it off uniques from last year/this year.

I don't have the specifics, but I know it was the biggest Shauncon in years.
Saturday was especially exciting with the "Waaagh!"s coming from the big 40K
tournament, and the huge Mount Doom terrain setup.

Btw those that didn't attend the industry panel definately missed out. Duke
Seifried had some excellent stories to tell about the pioneers of both gaming
and fantasy science fiction.

I had a blast Friday night and all day Saturday at the KC Game Fair. I ran a
Call of Cthulhu game Friday night, The Curse of the Yellow Sign: Act 1, and that
was a lot of fun. Of the 6 players, 4 died and 2 escaped. I also played a
pick-up game of Sword & Skull, a fun pirate-themed board game.

Saturday was so cool. I was scheduled to run a Trail of Cthulhu game, but no one
signed up for it, which freed me up to play in the Dungeon of Chaos game!!! A
single D&D adventure run at 6 different tables, with each table using a
different set of rules. Every 30 minutes or so we switched to a new table to
continue our trek into the tomb. Oh my God! It was a blast!!

I was Thark, a warrior. At some of the tables, I was a human barbarian, while at
others I was a human fighter, a half-orc warrior, or a dragonborn fighter. It
was so much fun!

Then that afternoon, I ran another Call of Cthulhu game, a scenario of my own
design, The Faculty Party. This 6 player game ended with 5 out of the 6 dying
horrible gruesome deaths, and one escaped with his skin. Barely. There were
several moments in the game where my players literally screamed out loud, as
loud as they could, (all for fun, of course), and as I looked around and saw
heads turn toward our table, I would just raise a hand and say, "Call of
Cthulhu. Call of Cthulhu", to let them all know that the situation was normal.

Big thanks to my players and the organizers of the con. I cannot wait for next
year!

Judge Primer
First I want to thank each an every one of you for helping
out this weekend. Volunteers who love gaming are what make this hobby possible
and will make the convention a success. If you have any questions during the
convention just let me know.
Tracking Sheets
· It is very important that I get accurate
information on tracking sheets. Please be sure I get the following
· Event Name (DRAG1-5, DRAG1-4, etc.)
· Either a slot # or start time (Slot 1, Thursday
2pm, Slot 2, Thursday 7pm)
· Your RPGA # and Name
· Please make sure the players have their name and
RPGA # on it.
· Adventure Questions
Please be sure when you complete your table the Tracking
sheet gets dropped off in the tracking sheet box.
Adventures
I have 3 or 4 copies of each adventure printed. These can
all be found in the grey filer. If an event runs 5 times this will not be enough
so please recycle the adventure back into the filer.
Pickup games and the LFR Library
I have brought a nearly complete collection of published LFR
events. You are welcome pick up and run an event that is not scheduled, please
· Get a tracking sheet
· Copy of the adventure from the black filer
· Following the event Contact me to ask to print
out the story rewards after the event. I will get them printed during the next
couple slots. Inform your players to get in touch with you following the next
slot or 2 for the tracking sheet.
General Help
New Players: We will likely have new players at the
convention. I have pregens of 1st level, also in the grey filer. I also have
blank adventure tracking and
character sheets. If there is anything else you need please ask me.

Lastly thanks again for all your help… :)

Signup is now available for November 30th. Regretfully we will be running a
short tablecount this week due to a shortage of judges. Only 2 tables. Right now
their are plenty of seats in the 4-7. We will return to the regular 3 table in
December and hopefully through the month.

Judges as soon as I hear back from the volunteers, I will have the December 7th

Our first outing with Witch Hunter: Dark Providence at the Guild Game day was a
big success yesterday, with both tables completely full every slot.

Since there appears to be significant interest in the campaign I plan on setting
up two tables during the evening slot of upcoming game days. One Table will be
of a module that has ran in the area already and one that has not. In order to
make this work we are going to need one person each month to be willing to eat a
mod.

For those of you interested in Witch Hunter, the Omaha Cavaliers are sending
down several people next to help run Dark Providence modules at Shauncon,
including three premiers and an interactive on Saturday afternoon.

For more information about the campaign please go to http://darkprovidence.net/

Thanks to all of our judges and for all the people willing to come out and try
something new!

Andy Terrill
RPGKC Overlord

***Please note that Witch Hunter: Dark Providence is a game of horror taking
place in the 17th century, and includes many adult topics such as religious and
racial intolerance, and all manner of dark opponents. It is not appropriate for
our younger gamers.

I had proposed shutting down on November 23rd but there does appear to be
interest in gaming that day. So we are going to keep it on.
I have been unable to acquire a full compliment of judges for November 30th. So
here is the plan.

We have 3 tables scheduled for 11/23. If any fail to have a legal table by
Sunday 22nd, we will cancel and move that table to November 30th. Any player or
judge that is in a cancelled table is encouraged to play in one of the remaining
events.

I hope we will be up to our regular compliment of tables through December, but
there is a chance we will have to collapse a couple tables through the holidays.

November 23rd is now available for player signp:

Judges signup is available for November 30th.

once we hit 100-125+ gamers during a given weekend. Fortunately, our
schedule and closing preregistration should ensure an even flow without a
big surge of gamers at any give time.

Before closing, I'd like to thank everyone who has helped make this
convention a go. We will be looking to make this a 6 day event in the
future!

I'd also like to thank those who contributed prize support.

I've heard back from all our judges and they seem pretty flexible, but I'd like
to hear from the players if you plan to attend or not.

I wanted to ping people regarding our gaming session Monday, November 23rd. This
is the day immediately following Shauncon and a lot of people will be suffering
from Con fatigue. I was considering pushing all the November 23rd games out 1
week to the 30th and taking the evening off. I wanted to get people's feedback.
Does this sound like a good idea? Does it sound like a bad idea and you'd like
for us to keep the 23rd on?

Let me know. Thanks,

Michael Mockus

I'm not sure what game system you're looking to implement, but you might
look into Vassal.

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows a web based map to play online and move
positions. I am even willing to pay for it a little bit or install it on my
own server.

Thanks,

Wade

I am running 3 Cthulhu games at ShaunCon.

A Call of Cthulhu game on Friday night, "Curse of the Yellow Sign: Act 1". Then
I'm running a Trail of Cthulhu game on Saturday morning, "The Murderer of Thomas
Fell", and then another Call of Cthulhu game on Saturday afternoon, "The Faculty
Party".

"The Faculty Party" is a scenario I wrote that was accepted into this year's
Halloween monograph published by Chaosium.

So if you're into Cthulhu, I've got a game available for you to play in! :)

Howdy,

Everyone should be able to sign up now on the WarCon site. BTW, we have a
LOT of support from area and national folks so it should be a good time for
all

My apologies for the delay,

Phil
