Title of RPG: HogwartsNewYearRPG

Detailed description: HNY is a canon-based RPG set in year 6. It is canon only through what was known as of the end of OoTP. We play out things that *could* have happened in canon from year 6 on and so creativity on the part of the players is strongly encouraged. We welcome new story lines and can find ways to accommodate/ integrate back stories as much as possible with existing ones. Background of new OCs may need to be slightly altered to fit existing story lines, but every effort is made to preserve as much as possible of the player's desired background for the OC.

We have been an active RPG for over four years. If you like role-playing and Harry Potter, then give us a try! We'd love to see new members! We have an opening for Neville Longbottom and Voldemort  among many other canons!

If you have the drive and the ability to craft good Potteresque stories and can post often to help move stories along PLEASE give us a look.

The game features characters at Hogwarts, obviously, but also adult characters with plots at the Ministry and throughout wizarding Britain. We seek to integrate story lines whenever possible for greater depth. Detailed back stories play an important role in this RPG.

Other information: We welcome advanced and novice role-players. Assistance is given to those who need help with development of original characters or grammar and formatting issues. Simple plots are available for novice role-players to gain experience and the more detailed and advanced far-reaching plots are there for the more experienced players. Mary Sues/Gary Stus are NOT welcome. Cross-over characters cannot be accommodated.

There is no limit on the number of characters a player can have as long as the player can manage them all.

We allow all ratings up to R, but we do ask that such posts be clearly marked in the header and at the top of the post so that members can decide whether to read them. We ask also that such posts be made only when they are integral to the plot and never for sheer titillation only. Most posts are in the G-PG range. Slash is allowed.

Many canon characters are available, i.e. Blaise Zabini, Arthur Weasley, Molly Weasley,  Neville Longbottom, Cho Chang, Pomona Sprout, Voldemort (we'd LOVE to see someone take on this role ASAP), Filius Flitwick, Narcissa Malfoy, Dobby, Minerva McGonagall, Albus Dumbledore, Crabbe/Goyle, Professor Sinistra, Professor Vector, etc.

A writing sample will be required for major canon characters. Bios for OCs must be approved before new players may post.

We'd especially like to see active adult characters, OCs included, who would be either members of the Order of the Phoenix, the Death Eaters or work for the Ministry in some capacity. OCs who can teach either Muggle Studies (must be a female character, but need not be Charity Burbage) or Ancient Runes will be considered provided they fit the wizard world. OC students for all houses, especially Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are also very welcome.
