“Hmm, the engine output seems nominal; singularity creation rate is within normal perimeters.”  The young technician sighed and leaned against the console “what do you think?”

“Why are you asking me Pek?  You’re the one who was trained in that area; I’m just a simple electrical technician.”  Tr’Winpen frowned and picked up one of the circuits he had removed earlier “this damn thing is getting very old.”

“Getting?” tr’Pek winced “it already is old.  This ship was the prototype after all, sure maybe they’ve upgraded it some, but they don’t make things that last too long.”

“Long enough if you replace the parts regularly!” Tr’Winpen snickered and put the circuit back into the large tool box “so Pek, what do you think of this new Leih?  I hear she’s a bit out there.”

“No, be careful what you say Winpen, she already put the last Daise’Paectum in sickbay, hearing a lowly tech say that and she might kill you.”  Pek looked over his back and then leaned in close to Winpen “but if you must know…I hear she killed her last crew.”  Pulling back he shivered “or at least that is what they say.”

“Do you really believe that Pek?”

“I don’t know what to believe, but at least it’s interesting.  By the way, did you hear about the new Paectum?”

“Hmm, yes, a little bit from what the others were saying.  She’s not fully Rihannsu?  At least that is what THEY said.  I don’t know how they learn all this stuff.”  Winpen slapped the cover of the tool box closed “something about being part bug.”

“Bug?” Pek didn’t seem to believe it “how can you be part bug?  Is she Torhei?”

“Noo!  Don’t speak that name out loud.”  Winpen smacked Pek on the shoulder “they say if you speak ‘their’ name they will return.”

Sighing Pek stood up “you’re beyond gullible Winpen.  Bug my ass.”
