Description : Motivated by Gehenna
The idea is to use the special rule of the Laibon in this storyline
so you can tool up Dela Eden after your needs. Superior Dominate to
govern out more minions, a kerrie against guns or a Bundi if a potence
rush deck is close to it on the table.

This was teched for the storyline rules (using Motivated for Knowledge), without
getting the Codex every game and bleeding for 4-5 a lot late in games it's
highly unlikely I would have ended up top seed or winning, so I can't say much
about it in normal play.
Hello all,
I'd like some comments on a deck concept I originally saw on David
Cherryholmes's site.
It's Finnish politics, diablerie and swarming all rolled into one.

Could have done without one or two of the Twilight camps and would have put in
an Anarch convert or two if they weren't tied up in other decks. I was
channeling Brandon and using his mindset of table disruption. Chaos = people not
playing their game = win.

Jessie Ellison's Tournament Winning Deck with 3 VPs in the finals
Deck Name: The Baobhan-sith, Kyasid bleed deck
Created By: Jessie Ellison
Description: The idea behind this deck is of course primarily stealth
bleed, with a secondary function of trying to choose one`s battles.
Chanjelin Ward and Redcap Wilder pose undesirable consequences to other
Methuselah`s vampires, while Shadow Twin and Riddle Phantastique
effectively single out targets and attempt to make them weaker. With
the powerful combat supplied by Mytherceria and Obtenebration, these
vampires can usually choose whether they want to strike hard or make a
quick getaway. Archon Investigations were added to dissuade others
from trying big bleeds, and Centralized Background Checks to make the
dreaded Poker a little more expensive to get out. The strongest
vampire in this deck is, arguably, Marconius since he is the only one
to possess all three disciplines at superior as well as paying 1 less
blood for Mytherceria cards, but this deck really does not focus on
any one vampire in particular. Rather it focuses on getting as many
vampires out as possible, starting out rather slowly to create a wall
of Faerie mischief late in the game.

Eden's Legacy : Guruhi Storyline Deck
"Waste not, Want Knowledge"
/* I really like Matt Morgan's comment notation for decks so I'm
borrowing it.
The genesis of this deck is mostly taking advantage of the storyline
mechanics. Of the motivations, Knowledge was the only one that didn't
require the edge. Once I made that choice, heavy card cycling and
blood denial seemed an obvious goal. Combat it is. I chose Guruhi
because; Laibon get to fish for key cards, pot/ani combat is strong,

Tshawne was also huge, saved me a lot of pool. In the final at one

Description :
collapses to dedicated combat and a table full of royalty. bloat could
be stronger, but be careful, blood becomes a premium right quick. the
imbued grant bounce, chump blockage to trump combat, and extra bleed,
which is nice. the deck needs more wakes though, straight up.
it doesn't need to be a 60 card deck. the reason was to figure out how
fast it would take to get out Aye + High Aye or imbued + Determine
bounce. further, to see how Ashur Tablets help such a fast deck (in
theory) recoup. Aye takes about 3 turns at fastest (bring out Lumumba
1st turn, Aye up w/ a MPA left over on the 3rd turn). but it averages
out to around turn 5. the spare permanent wake effect is nice, but
blood intensive. imbued bounce is great to pull out ASAP, however,
you'll still likely die to dedicated S&B. it was a nice thought, but
doesn't really hold back the tide. does nicely to flick away Govern/
Condition bleeds in theory, but never faced that in trying it out.
Ashur Tablets were not enough bloat to survive, and the deck is
matchup dependent. add 4 if you must, stick to a clutch of Blood Dolls
in replacement.
too many Voter Caps in here. Bewitchings also slow down cycling. you
are rarely going to survive the push against a large table with oodles
of titles. might as well throw in a few weak votes, like Finding the
Path, and beg for help, or use Awe. Those Who Endure Judge is pretty
decent because unlike Bewitching it cycles out faster in a dead-in-the-water
situation of too many titles on table. looking back, this deck doesn't need to
be so focused on PRE.
also, this deck could use crypt focus. i'd pick Aren and Ubende. let
Aren and another store the Aye; you'll likely get 2 minions w/ 3 Aye
running somewhere by turn 7ish. Ghoul Messenger does a great job
refilling people and leaving everyone untapped, if it works. i'd add
another copy so i wouldn't care about 1 burning. in the future, i'd
increase deck size a bit (70 or 80 might still work 9 Aye well,
dunno), run Bambas, tighten and make smaller crypt, and add more pool
management -- relying on Voter Cap pool bloat w/ <8cap, not so strong.

So according to this theory of "Vampire Efficiency" I need to be able
to do 9 pool worth of damage in 3 turns with him.
Key items to look at
1) Bleeding - He has +1 bleed effectively and superior Dominate. If I
wanted to turn him all the way up I would use Govern + Conditioning to
bleed for 7 in one shot
2) Delivery- you can either stealth it through with obfuscate,
thaumaturgy or necromancy and then use Tangle Atropos Hand if you get
bounced at stealth (only requires a block attempt) and also gives you
access to a second action.
3) Survival- He has Aupex and Thaumaturgy, so you could use Rutors/
Eyes of Argus for untap to block and Dominate for Deflections.
4) Combat- He is trumpy in combat so you could magic the Smith for an
Ivory Bow then use a lot of Apportations to keep combat going until you land the
agg
So that is a deck fleshed out that gives you a efficient Oliver
Thrace. But who matches up with him?

Today we're going to take a look at Jeff Poole's famous Goratrix deck
which grafts Celerity on to him for some extra blood stealing
goodness. Jeff used an earlier version of this deck back in 2003 to
bring a victory to the clan during the Lambach's Legion storyline. He
played an updated version of the deck recently at the Los Angeles
storyline tournament for Eden's Legacy. He made it to the finals and
just barely lost out to an Eze deck – the game timed out with a tie
between him and Eze, but Eze had the higher seeding. It was still an
impressive showing that will hopefully motivate other Tremere
Antitribu players.

[Playing the deck]
Jeff: "The premise (and change from the Lambach storyline) is that all
the vampires can do most of what the deck does. I don't want to rely
solely on Goratrix, although once he gets going he's more than
capable. Thus there's a lot of Apportations and the Infernal Pact is
for one of the other THAUM guys after Goratrix gets his drum on."
Jeff: "I've played this deck a lot over the past few years and I
ALWAYS run into one problem. Goratrix runs out of blood all the time.
My opponents spend their blood and then there's not enough to steal.
It's a big problem and makes me make silly decisions like blocking my
allies and draining them dry (I did that to Arika in the finals the
other day, but mainly it was because she banished Saiz, which is a big
no no, !Tremere don't like being banished). I haven't really figured
out a way to get more than 3-4 blood from an enemy in combat, if
that."
[Potential changes]
Jeff: "I'm thinking about taking out the Regents, the Eternal
Vigilances, Disengages and adding in 2 Direct Interventions, 2 Forced
Awakenings, another Flash and a Coven. I find that the Regent/EV combo
very rarely gets out and it usually ends up clogging my hand for a
turn or two. Since it's primarily a combat deck that's not a good
thing. I don't think the Disengages are really necessary because of
all my maneuvers."
Editor: Jeff's card selection is limited beyond Third Edition and
Sword of Caine. Rego Motus, Eyes of Argus, and Enkil Cog are cards
that would definitely go into the deck if Jeff is able to get his
hands on any copies. I'd also suggest Spirit Summoning Chamber.
Anastasz di Zagreb could also easily fit into the deck, but Jeff
prefers to keep his storyline decks 100% Tremere Antitribu. It's an
impressive feat – I'm usually guilty of selling out my 25% non-clan
slots!
[Eden's Legacy Storyline]
Jeff: "In previous storyline tournaments people really got a feel for
what the storyline was about and built decks to advance what they
thought was the best outcome of the storyline, be it clan agenda or
something else. This event was kind of hazy when it came to the back
story. This led a lot of people to play Laibon and not really know why
or care about their motivations."
Jeff: "The Codex I thought was interesting but not enough so to
warrant its spot in the middle of the table. Now the Eye of Hazimel,
that's a great table card, and full of so much storyline flavor! I
thought the motivations were all right, although the Knowledge one was
by far the strongest (and most annoying for my deck. Every time before
combat people would burn 2-5 blood so I couldn't steal it!)."
[Words of Wisdom]
Jeff: "I'm no V:tES expert, but I am a huge supporter of playing decks
that you like thematically, even if they suffer playability from it.
So I would say, play on the strengths of the clan, and most
importantly the strengths of the Sabbat! The clan has Dominate and
Auspex which makes the clan great at sitting back and defending itself
from attacks and then when your prey is weak enough, launching a full
blown assault. As for Thuamaturgy, I would say it depends on whether
you want to be combat or not. It offers great combat potential, but
even for non-combat decks it's an amazing discipline. I'd say one of
the best in the game, coupled with Dominate which is definitely one of
the best, the !Tremere are a tough clan to beat. Patience is the best
virtue for the clan though (which I don't seem to have when I play
them). Not only does the virtue describe the clan's fluff, but it is
also a great way to win with the clan's unique play style."

So, I had very little time to prepare and cards in two different
countries so I was looking for inspiration about 2 weeks ahead of the
storyline - I dug around in the card piles I had in Oslo to try and
figure out what I could make. After seeing Vegards (the Prince of
Oslo) plee for abomination win I decided to pick up my copies of
Pariah and go to the deckbuilding workshop to figure out a layout for
a deck. This is the deck I scraped together if anyone happens to be
interested in some untuned crap:
