"Well if you designed I will be back! Right Al?"

Katie looked over at her Dad, he had on his "father" face. He wasn't gonna
budge. She sighed and nodded, admitting defeat. "Fine." She looked at her dad,
"But you BETTER come back..."

Catala felt oddly out of place during all this.
What to say, what to say? She stiffled a sigh and
Katie's stubborness and stood with her amrs
folded.<br><br>"Katie, I really hate to say this, but their right...they
have been doing this for a long time. Plus, look at it
this way, if something DOES go wrong with the retreval
program, it might be better for the person who designed it
be here to fix it," Catala said, hoping she could
help end this fight. They weren't getting any work
done this way.

"Exactly! I want you be here-in case what
happened to me happens again. Now I won't let you go-your
needed here-and you'll stay here! Besides how do we know
that you can handle the leap? Me and Al have been
doing this for years and thats how it will stay."

Katie,It's not that simple..The whole project
revolves around me and your dad.If you were to leap it
might not even work!Your needed here,In case the
program fails your the only one who can repair it.

"And you think I want to risk losing you! Let's
face it, Dad, you're getting old. Can you even handel
the leaps anymore? I wrote the retrieval program, if
I don't come back it's my fault, not yours. Besides
Al and I could link...or you could even do the
imaging chamber." Katie was giving him a look he knew all
too well. She wasn't going down without a fight.

"NO! I will not let you go. I've done it before and Als still linked with me. I
know the dangers...and I don't want to risk not being able to bring you back!"

"Dad..." Katie looked at him. "I can do this. Trust me. I'm ready. This is all
I've ever wanted. Ziggy's up and running. The retrieval program has been
revamped." She pleaded with him.

Catala stayed quiet as the three talked. She knew
that she would never get a chance to jump, so no use
hoping, right? ~In a way, I shoud be the one to jump...I
mean, Katie's got her dad, an actua family...meanwhie
my parents woudn't care less if I was dead...~
Catala thought sadly. Her parents had basicaly disowned
her when she joined the Project. They said that it
would lead her no wheres in life. <br><br>"Now as long
as he stays up and running," Catala said to Al with
a little smile. She could just imagine Ziggy
breaking down again five minutes later.

"Now Katie,You KNOW how your dad feels about
that.<br> We've been over this a hundred times,Uh Right
Sam?"Al needed some back up and fast Katie's face had
that "look" on it again.The one that said If you bring
this up I'll never speak to you anymore<br>but he had
gotten use to that by now.He turns to Sam Ziggy's
running great,We've got it!

Katie turned and rolled her eyes,
"Hey...everyone's been looking for you. Wondering when you were
going to show up?" Katie smiled. It had just been her
and her dad growing up and though she was now 18 and
well on her to becoming independant, she knew she
would always be her father's little girl. Which was the
main reason he refused to let her be the test subject
for the leap. But that doesn't mean she wasn't gonna
try. "I was just telling Al if we got Ziggy back on
track before you showed I totally volunteer to leap."

Sam seeked up on his daughter and reached at her shoulders. "Boo!"

"I haven't seen Dad either. But then I've been in
class...but if you're looking for someone to test it out. I'm
here. I'll do it." Katie smiled hopefully, with Al she
might be able to get away with leaping.

Yes. Be Sam. Yeah!!!! Just jump in. Everyone's in the same room at the project

Catala rolled her eyes a little. ~No attention
for the obvious,~ she thought with a small smile.
Switching the tapes in her hand-held recorder, she said,
"No, I haven't seen him, then again, I just woke up an
hour ago."

"Morn'ng kat" Al said absent-mindly bent over toying with ziggy's
controls.<br>"Has anybody seen Sam?I've been looking top to bottom."

Catala smiled back at Katie. Losing the smile and
friendly attitude, she turned stone serious in a split
second. It was one of her few traits that caught peoples'
attention. She could be laughing at a joke one minute and
tending to a funeral the next...to put it in plane terms.

Katie rolled her eyes, the thought of ANYONE flirting with Al wigged her out. He

down the corridors with her recorder in
hand. Keying the recording device, she said in a low
voice as not to disturb anyone, "Feel as though
something bad's gunna happen today....I don't really
know...it just...I got this spooky feeling." <br><br>She
walked into the room a few moments behind Katie. Good
morning, Katie. Ziggy." She said with a small nod. Giving
Al her warmest smile, "And especially good morning
to you, AL." So she was a flirt. Hey, he weren't too
bad looking for an old guy.

"Wow...education questions coming from Al. You
have definately been hanging around Dad too long."
Katie gave Al and smirk. "I did have class...til they
decided to cancel it, so I decided to swing by and see if
there was anything I could do..." It was a well known
fact that Katie was dying to leap. She wanted to be
the test subject once they got the project up and
running again, but her father was set against it. Based
on Sam's own experience he wasn't going to risk
losing her. "Oh yeah...hi to you too, Ziggy."

Al turned to Katie and smiled,"Ziggy's attitude
what eles?" <br>"I heard that Admiral"Ziggy's voice
answered.Al shook his head "See what I mean?What are you
doing here anyways I thought you had class."

Okay, I get bored easily. So since I have nothing
to do I'm going to just go ahead and start. Feel
free to jump in. I'm not much for people having to
give me long character descriptions. Just if you're
going to use an original char...make sure she or he is
well introduced in the first post. Like I will...and
if either of you wanna take Sam feel free. I don't
think I know enough to play him, but I could if I

5<br>Sometime in the near future<br><br>Sliding her ID card
through the scanner, Katherine Beckett (Katie) stepped
through the door and started down the corridor. She had
gotten out of classes early today and decided to swing
by and see if her Dad and Al could use any extra
help. With the reevaluation coming up, everyone at the
Project was putting in extra time. They were also really
stressed. The biggest problem being the retrieval program,
which still wasn't working.<br><br>Saying hi to random
people who she knew from seeing them around the project,
Katie headed straight for the elevator. Going down to
where the main controls of the project she was, she
walked past the imaging chamber to the main control
room. She had a feeling everyone would be down there
working on Ziggy. She took her sunglasses off and put
them on top of her head, so that they held her long
brown hair back (not that it needed to be held back, it
was in a braid going down her back).<br><br>To anyone
else Katherine looked like your run of the mill,
normal college freshman complete with jean, sneakers,
and a tee shirt. But she wasn't normal. She was Sam
Beckett's daughter, and like her father she was a genius,
which is why she was the youngest intern at the
project.<br><br>She stepped into the control room and saw her
theories were confirmed. Dropping her back by the door she
walked over to join the other. "Hey, Dad...Al...what's
up?"

Yeah!!!! Quantum leap is like...the best. I just got into it over Spring Break.
It's amazing...<br><br>Anywho, pick a character any character :)

I have been looking for a quantum role play,The one I was in kind of died!Can I
be Al?

Wow! I got a member! *happy dance* I was beginning to think I was the only
person who remembered Quantum Leap. Just tell post who you wanna play :)

Okay...this is set AFTER the show. Sam has made
it home and all is well. The project is being
reviewed for further funding and Sam's daughter, Katherine
has joined the team. All chars are open at this
point. I'll be playing Katherine, an original

Brown<br>Eyes: Green<br>Occupation: College Freshman/ Intern for
PQL<br>Personality: Smart, like genius smart. Quiet. Just like her
father.<br>History: Her mother having died in childbirth she was
raised by her father and "Uncle Al". She's very closed
to him and loves the project. She wants to leap, but
knows her father's hesitant to let her do so b/c of
what happened to him.
