The Dragonspine Coronation Feast will be held on April 17, 2004 at the home
of the Williamson's located at 2532 Calle Del Norte. (There will be maps and
directions available at the park on the 10th and 17th). This will be an outdoor
feast, and a wet site. The theme is a barbarian encampment. The menu is as
follows:

   Appetizer:

   Fruit, Veggie, and Cheese Tray
   Barbari Bread and Butter

   Entree and Sides:

Hearty Veggie Stew (as a side and a vegetarian option)
Skewered Beef on a bed of Wild Rice and Spring Greens

  Dessert:

   Dessert Waffles with Berry Compote

  Beverages:
  Lemonade/Grape drink
  Tea
  Klah (possibly, with dessert)

Cost will be $7 a person, and the feast will begin at 7 pm.

Again, this will be an outdoor feast, and I will have directions posted within
the next couple days (there will be directions available at the park on the 10th
and 17th as well.)

Rhiannon

Greetings all, Don't forget Salt War II is only 5 weeks away!! (May
14th-16th)

It'll be held at Kayrana Fields, (Oak City Utah)

War Games galore!!!!

Brief Explanations:
Ditching- Open Ditch Field (Caution! Open Ditch ahead!!!!)

Quittich- Warm up for a weekend of Boffer Mayhem with that fast paced
game of games inspired by Harry Potter and adapted for use by the Iron
Mountains under the reign of Sir MHOG!

Kiddie Quest- Brought to you by Man-at-Arms Asher Ripplewind of
Gryphter Company's Beta Pride.

Ribbon Tourney- Honor Duel meets assasin games. Gain points (ribbons)
for victory in one on one Honor Duels all weekend. Brought to you by
the Shire of Westgate Pass.

Archery Tourney- Goblin Shoot with Amt-legal Arrows. Show your skill
with a boffer-padded flying stick and horizontal excelorator device!
Brought to you by Ironwulf Company of Rivers End.

Tourney of the Wave- Ever dueled using a teddy bear and an off hand
wench? How about a lightning bolt and Iceball? Or a Bear Mug (amtlegal)
and an off hand Sword Knight? Well you just might get your chance in
the all around wacky "Icebreaker" tourney known as the Tourney of the
Wave. Brought to you by Gryphter Company's Beta Pride.

"Pick up" Jugging Games- Jugg, Jugg, Jugg. Jugging fields will be set
up for pick-up games all weekend. (not a tourney, just place to
practice Jugging strategies against other lands, winners stay for a max
of 3 games in a row before giving over the field and rejoining the
rotation)

Open Seas Battle- Two Boats battle over a powerful relic. Make yer
enemies walk the plank, argh maities!!!! Lots of swashbuckling fun
brought to you by the Barony of Dragonspyre!

The second Salt War- Multiple armies battle for control of the castle
and that precious comodity SALT! The Barony of Dragonspyre defends last
years victory, the castle, and one of the three Salt Blocks on the
field. Who will hold all three Blocks and the Castle for a 1000 count?
You!? Ya, right,..you and what Army!? (salt blocks have special healing
properties)

Come out and enjoy the newest (and rumored to be one of the largest)
Amtgard event sites May 14th-16th. Kayrana Fields is located in
the "thriving" community of Oak City Utah near the Junction of I-70 and
I-15.

For more information on the event look at www.theriversend.com later
this week. (Our server is experiencing technical difficulties at the
moment, it's "technically" disconnected while Baron Ceowulf finishes
his move into his newly built house.)

Looking forward to a great event,

For some reason i cant seem to post to the PV List,
can someone please do me a favor and foward this to it
please? Thanks.

Greetings all,
I was wanting to remind everyone that this saturday is Dragonspine
Coronation. I am trying to get as many of us in PV to go and show our
support to DS, see if we can set up a share a ride situation to get
people there and back, and overall go down there and kick some butt on
the field. If anyone either wants to go and needs an ride, or is going
and has space, or wants to go but needs $$ please post it here. I for
one would like to go and have $$ but not a reliable form of
transportation so if anyone has extra space i would appricate it.
480-5942(Andre) Thanks for your time, Long live the dream, Long live PV.
Alucard Draconis.

Attention to the populace of Pegasus Valley,
I regret to inform everyone that there is a very large
possibility that I will not be at the Park again this
Saturday.
This past Saturday I was not at the park because I was
at DS for Coronation.
The Saturday prior to that was because one of my
uncles was in the hospital, he passed away yesterday
And this Saturday SHOULD be the funeral, if events
change i.e. if the funeral is not this weekend I will
be at the park as scheduled.
I apologize for any inconveniences and if anyone needs
to get hold of me for anything PLEASE call me.

Good people of Pegasus Valley,

The day of the Highland games approaches and we are prepared to begin our
planning meetings for the May event. The first meeting will be held at the
Frontier restaurant at 7pm on Wednesday, April 28.

At present, our list of activities looks like this:

-The usual Amtgard fighters
-An A&S demonstration booth (bring armor, weapons, drawings, whatever your
creative hands and mind can do)
-An archery booth, $1 for five arrows and a target

This is a great event and it will be the third year that we have participated
in it. We get a lot of attention at this event.

For those of you who have an interest in the Scottish element, these games
play host to everything from bagpiping and step dancing competitions, to
Scottish clan organizations and clubs, to vendors of food and goods of all
things
northern and Celtic.

We will be meeting at the Menaul School on Saturday May 15th, instead of at
the regular park. Please pass the word on to those who do not have email.

All questions can be directed to me at Drin@....

In service,
Alexar

When could you update the ORK, I'm pretty sure what I have in my

Wow!

I'd begun to think you'd vanished from the face of the planet. Good to know
you're alive and kicking. I would be happy to pick up whatever you may have
for the duchy if no other officers are present.

Also, I still have the poles and canvas that you lent PV a couple of years
ago. Do you have a truck or van or similar vehicle that could accomodate the
poles? If so, I will be able to get both items out of my mother's hair, as
she's been storing them for me the entire time. ; )

Highland Games Meeting 04/29/04 by Squire Riff Raff Darkjester

Meeting officially started at 7:10PM at The Frontier

In Attendance:
Squire Kyrie Stormblade Darkjester
Grand Duke Alucard
BOD President Baronette Alexar
Squire Teliel
Baron Master Naga Darkjester
Regent Scotia
Squire Riff Raff Darkjester

Discussed Sun Canopy:
Idea was voiced by Squire Riff Raff
Concurred by others, Duke Alucard voiced idea to look into getting
permanent Sun Canopy for Highland Games and other events.

Questioned where Lord Skywalker was and discussed if he would be able
to attend meeting. He's working and is unable to attend at the moment
but will probably appear shortly. Duke Alucard called Prime Minister
Lord Skywalker regarding Duchy Coffers and inquired our tax exemption
status.

Baronette Alexar questioned the need to create flyers publicising
Amtgard during for the Highland Games. Squire Kyrie explained that she
can design them, Grand Duke Alucard explained that there were already
templates from previous events that could be used. Baronette Alexar
wondered if color flyers were possible I explained that I could print
them out at work without issue on high end color laser printers. 200
copies was requested.

Baronette Alexar inquired about getting bows to set up an archery
booth for the Games. I volunteered the use of my bow for the booth and
Grand Duke Alucard volunteered the use of two of his bows for the booth.

Baronette Alexar asked about the possibility of having coolers and
drinks available for fellow Amtgarders. Squire Kyrie volunteered the
use of her coolers for the games. Grand Duke Alucard voiced his
opinion that the Duchy should pay for water but due to the cost, no
other beverages should be purchased by the Duchy.

I explained that it would be more affordable to get a five gallon drum
of purified water rather than a crate or two of bottled water, we just
need a sturdy table to set it all on. Everyone concurred. I will work
to obtain a 5 gallon drum and stand for the Games. The Duchy already
has cups.

Squire Baron Exedor showed up and so did Baron Sivan.

We moved locations to a larger location at The Frontier Restaurant.

Baronette Alexar asked regarding the feasability of getting a
professional sign for the archery booth as this seems to be a
recurring event that Amtgard partakes in. Alucard asked Alexar to get
a price on it and then we'll refer it to an Allthing along with candy,
ice, table, list supplies and the Sunshade.

Baronette Alexar said that she would buy the table on her own funds
for the time being.

As the booth locations for the Highland Games are not predetermined
and are chosen by the various groups at the start of the Games,
Amtgard must show up early in order to claim a good location. Grand
Duke Alucard inquired about getting there the day before to choose a
good location. Baronette Alexar said that she was going to look into
being allowed to do that. It was generally agreed that we need to show
up early the day of the Highland Games, Baronette Alexar said that she
would be there early and me and Squire Kyrie announced that we could
be there at 8:00.

Grand Duke Alucard asked about getting rope to have a 'fenced-off'
area for fighting that won't interfere with average people. Baronette
Alexar said that she had a lot of Orange Rope that could be used.

It was decided that there would be an Allthing on May 8th at 3PM to
vote on the purchases needed for the Highland Games.

Grand Duke Alucard wants to get soft targets for people to aim at at
the archery booth. So that the Amtgard Arrows aren't destroyed through
hundreds of uses.

Grand Duke Alucard said that he would look into getting a device to
hang the soft targets for the archery booth.

At 8:10 Lord Skywalker arrived.

We discussed picking up the Regents Boxes and transporting them to a
new PV Storage Unit.

Grand Duke Alucard suggested that people bring out Company, Household,
and Land banners for the Games to show more flavor.

Clothes Pins was suggested to attach Tapestries and Banners to the
Easy Up.

Baronette Alexar asked about getting chairs for the Games. I asked how
many chairs we need, Squire Lord Teleil said that perhaps half a dozen
would be good.

Squire Lord Teleil suggested that people bring snacks because food is
expensive at the games.

Lord Skywalker said that he has a box full of potato chips for Amtgarders.

Squire Kyrie is going to supply the First Aid Kit, though she needs
more Adhesive Bandages. Squire Lord Teleil says that he has a bunch of
'Sesame Street' Adhesive Bandages that he can donate. If First Aid kit
is used Grand Duke Alucard wants any receipts to go to an Allthing for
reinbursement.

Grand Duke Alucard says that he has a roll of Trash Bags that he can
donate to the event.

Nightmare, you said:

If I remember correctly, one of the features of the ORK is that records
are displayed only for Active members. If you haven't been out at the
park for, say, six months, you'll likely not appear on the regular
list. It's like an automatic "Book of the Dead". You're likely in the
archived records, but are not showing up due to recent inactivity.
Also, a tip, if you plan to be inactive for long periods, get a
printout of your most recent records (credits, awards, titles, etc) and
keep it around for the next time you go out...that way you have a
personal reference document, just in case something happens to your
records or if you are traveling and want to play in another land.

You are on there, you just aren't on the active list. The ORK only
displays members that are on the active list on the chapter page.

You will have to enter your name into the search box to find your
records. Or show up at the park/Highland Games so you get bumped to the
active list again.

Just a couple extra bits since I wasn't there for the discussions.

Re: Sun canopy.
We have had a large sun canopy in the past. Every time we used it we
ended up having very windy conditions that would damage it a little bit
more with each use until it was unusable. The last Highland Games that
it made an appearance at was a good example of that. If we get a new one
it should definetely be well examined and researched before purchase to
make sure that it is VERY sturdy.

Re: Flyers
I have several different flyers ready to go. I will get samples posted
up on the website later today.

Re: Soft Archery Targets
Blocks of open cell foam can hold some types of paint well and the
weight of the paint will keep them somewhat steady if they're hanging
from ropes. Also stuffed animals (especially Pokemon) work well.
