Dear fellow puzzle fan,
With the hustle and bustle of the holidays behind us, it's time again
to turn our attention to puzzle fun. The third annual Silicon Valley
Puzzle Day is just around the corner. Because you've attended in the
past, we're hopeful that you'll join us for more puzzle fun at the
expanded Silicon Valley Puzzle Day set for Saturday, Feb. 7, and
Sunday, Feb. 8, from 10 am to 5 pm both days.
That's right, Puzzle Day is now two full days of puzzle-themed fun. We
expanded the event to address comments from many of you that want to
be able to attend all of the workshops and participate in all of the
tournaments. We listened to you and responded by spreading Puzzle Day
events over two full days.
Saturday will feature workshops in the library's program room, and
Sunday will feature sudoku and crossword puzzle tournaments. In
addition, we added an opportunity for you to socialize with fellow
puzzle fanatics on Saturday night from 6 to 10 pm, when we'll be
hosting a fundraiser for the Morgan Hill Library Foundation at the
Morgan Hill Ramada Inn. The party will feature food, wine, music,
games, and the chance to get to know lots of crossword puzzle and
sudoku aficionados in a more relaxed setting. Tyler Hinman, four-time
American Crossword Puzzle Tournament champion, will be our special
guest at the party.
If you're coming from out of town and want to make a weekend of it in
Morgan Hill, the Ramada Inn is offering a special package for Puzzle
Day participants. See our web site for details.
Space is limited, so we encourage you to register for workshops, the
party, and the tournaments right away at http://www.svpuzzle.org.
In addition, if you'd like to watch a free screening of Wordplay, the
hit documentary that served as the inspiration for Silicon Valley
Puzzle Day, we're offering that opportunity at 3 p.m. on Saturday,
Jan. 24, in the Morgan Hill Library's program room. The Morgan Hill
Library is located at 660 West Main Ave. in Morgan Hill. It's a fun,
free way to get in the puzzling spirit. Join us if you can.
If you have any questions, please contact us at info@.... We
look forward to seeing you at the the expanded Silicon Valley Puzzle
Day on Feb. 7 and 8!
