So, what's the status on PLA4?

well, i had something neato to say with my notes.. but
yahoo messed up.. so i wing it again, i've been
working on a possible PLA 4, i'm sending all my non-GM
only notes and hoping for feedback, if i get enough, i
may get this workable by the next Hex if i can go to
it..  i'll also upload the files if IE6 will let me..

PLA 4 Preview:

Scene opens up to a news interview:

Reporter: I have with me today, a number of people who
will be involved in the construction of the new
pokemon arena, which will lead to revolutionary new
changes in the pokemon league, of biggest concern, i
have the man who is funding this new arena, so,
Magnolvo-san, what would you like to tell the
audience?

Mason Magnolvo: well, we're hoping this arena will
bring some big changes to the pokemon league,
hopefully bringing it a lot more order, giving the gym
leaders a little more control, the official ones at
least, and hopefully weed out the bad unofficial ones,
and promote the good unofficial ones to join.

Reporter: That good, but what are to the rumors of the
gym leaders taking over the role of the professors?

Professor Oak: I would like to answer that one; I feel
we the professors play too dominant a role in today's
L.A.R.P. league.  This interferes with our other
important affairs.  By giving every worthy Gym leader
their fair share of responsibility, it helps not only
us, but also to weed out those who don't have the
maturity level to adequately be a Gym Leader

Reporter: I see.  So then, what are the new
organizations that are growing around every Gym?

Giovanni: as few people realized, in the past I ran
such an organization underground with my Gym, it made
my gym stronger, even if some of my methods weren't in
everybody's best interest, but now even Team Rocket
has to take it's share of the responsibility, and own
up to it's proper status.

Reporter: so what is the point of these organizations?
  to undermine the leagues authority?

MM: no no, far from it, it's to keep a closer eye on
the more responsible trainers, and hopefully make some
of the less responsible ones more mature by giving
them all a purpose as a group.  Right now, the changes
will only apply in Kanto, but if this works, within a
few years, it won't just be Jhoto as well, but the
whole world will be able to enjoy the full respect of
pokemon training.  You see, this arena will also be
the new center of the pokemon league when it's
finished, and all official Gyms will report their
status' here.

Reporter: what do you say as to the rumors of problems
in the arena's construction?

MM: well, I can assure you a lot of that is rumor, but
we do have one official problem we're hoping the
trainers who plan to participate in the opening
tournament of the arena can solve..

Reporter: well, there you have it, that's all the for

PLA 4 player types:

player type: professors: these are oak, elm, or
whatever, these players are basically for people who
want to help run the game by handing out wild pokemon,
healing, explaining rules, introducing new players and
the like, but don't wish to acually pokemon battle

player type: Gym leaders: these are people in the
roles of giovanni, or sabirna and the like, they hand
out the wild pokemon to the wild pokemon players, heal
pokemon, introduce new players, and can battle their
pokemon, they start with a total of three basic
pokemon, or two gym leader pokemon, either way with a
total of two grace levels for either HP, attacks or
other specails. pokemon of the Gym leader even if not
gym leader type act as Gym leader pokemon and will
only obey Gym leaders or Gym favorites(see below)

Player type: wild pokemon: these are people who wish
to go around and play our wild pokemon, at any time
they can carry as many as three or four uncaptured
pokemon as they choose, and can turn to a gym leader
or professor for new wild pokemon cards, day one these
wilds are all level one, day two new wild pokemon will
be level 1-4, and day three or better new wild pokemon
will be of level 1-9(with uniques like mew, mewtwo,
legendaries ect. as provided at set levels)

Player type: basic trainer: these are trainers who
have not joined a Gym, all trainers will start out
this way, they begien with one basic pokemon of base
level

Player type: Gym trainee: These are trainers who have
joined a Gym like Team Rocket members, only this
applies to all Gyms now, these players work with their
Gym leader and are more likly to gain perks and favors
and can leave their pokemon safly with their gym
leader at any time

Player type: Gym favorite: each Gym can only have one
of these, these are trainers favored by the Gym leader
and can possbily have their pokemon upgraded to a gym
leader type as a gym leader favor, Gym leader pokemon
will only respect Gym leaders or Gym favorites

Player type: extras: these are your nurse joy, officer
jenny, random parititioner, and everyday people of the
pokemon world, these are people who don't really wanna
do that much except have the privlige to say to some
part they were involved, their roles can vary as well
as their responciblities..

Active pokemon are too few to remain a player type,
pokemon ablities are thusly opened up freely, not
enough people have ever expressed an interest as a
players active pokemon

Well folks just so you know some folks would certainly like to see a
forth installation of Pokemon Live Action!  As mentioned I will do
what I can to help.  Its an interesting idea, we'll see what happens.

Oh and if you didn't guess you can still post here.

I vote for keeping it open.  You can always change the welcome
message on the home page every quarter-year to include the most
updated information on the current status of PLA.  You just never
know when interest might be rekindled.

Yeah I'll give folks until December, so your yes vote has been
counted.

of Live Action Systems.  If you didn't get an invite feel free to
check out http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tflas/ to see if its your
interest.
The question I have though is I may change this board to a read-only
since Pokémon Live Action is currently on hold.  When someone feels
PLA should be revived they can mail me and I'll unfreeze it.
The other option is to just leave it as is.  There is no harm in this
but it might mislead folks to believe the board is still active which
as we can see by the records really isn't true.
I also considered deletion, but that is not likely as its too cool to
have a Group called Pokemon Live Action at least for now. :)

Its okay, this time :)  As long as you aren't talking about Blood

Wild Pokémon Abilities (Green Sheet)

Sometime during combat a Wild Pokémon "may" choose any one of the
following abilities for their Wild Pokémon once the ability is chosen
it remains that way until the end of combat.

Once per combat:
1. May use 2nd attack.
2. Takes only 1/2 Damage rounded up.
3. Inflicts twice the amount of damage from a single attack.

Twice per combat:

4. Inflicts an additional 10 HP from an attack.
5. Reduces damage of an attack by 10 HP.

For entire combat

6. Your Pokémon may use the 2nd attack listed on the card, however it
may not use the 1st attack additionally the damage from the 2nd attack
is halved (though rounded up).

Thank everyone for your posts.  In regard to Hexacon site I will send
Jim Strait a request.  I have gone ahead and uploaded the "new" Flyer
in the files section.  As for the other, thanks for the web site,
remember levels are very relevant for the the experience Pokemon can
get.

Just a further update for folks, I am almost entirely settled in to
my new home so, I should be around a bit more.  Gardening was taking
up a number of my time (drip systems weren't working), as is
organizing.  I found the cards and wrapper for the PLAP, how many
folks are interested in attending so I can figure out how much
snackage to get?

The Webmaster for the upcoming HexaCon is Jim Strait.  You can

I don't know what format he would need the flyer in.  But he has, at
previous HexaCon committee meetings, asked for any info that he

Well folks May is way over, here's the summary of the Meeting

Another Paul was looking forward but unable to attend, but is happy
to offer his services and looks forward to acting as the Rocket
Liaison.

Old Business

Episodes
Episode information has been given to each Gym Leader.  Each Gym
Leader is responsible for three basic stories and will work on them
at their own pace.  Episodes will be completed before the Pokémon
Live Action Punch Party (PLAPP).  I will be responsible for
Giovanni's story as well as the Trainer Clues for all trainers.

Episodes may be story style and/or action style.  This means players
may have to perform a series of physical feats to complete the
episode.

Mayor Story Line
The major story lines have been created each one of the Gym Leader
story has a required condition to insure the major story line
happens.   The end sequence, prizes and awards are dependent upon how
successful the Trainers are.

Advertisement
Last flyer was partially distributed we still need to have it more
fully distributed especially to our sponsors (i.e. Game Depot).  I am
in the process of getting a Video Tape of the two commercials at
Leprecon.  We will probably have them available at the PLAPP J

New Business

Trainer Information Cards (TIC)
TIC will be as in prior years with three bits of information for
every trainer.  Information may be necessary to go on particular
episodes so trainer battles will still be very important in Pokémon
Live Action 3.  As mentioned I will be responsible for creating them.

Pokémon Live Action Punch Party

All members of the Pokémon Live Action Club are invited to attend,
however certain items may be kept private among Gym leaders and
Professors, so don't feel bad if you're left out of some of the
activities.

The Pokémon Live Action Party will be held at my new place at 22nd
and Glendale Ave on July 14th, two weeks before Hexacon.   This will
be an all ages event and will start around 11 AM and last until early
evening.  If I put the wrong date someone please correct it.

Thing we will do:
1. Have food and refreshment
2. Punch Pokémon cards and create buttons
3. Fine tune everyone's episodes and finalize for PLA3

Things we may do:
1. Draw Pokémon stuff, I have supplies and some drawing
instruments.
2. Play Pokémon (Card and Video Games and or Videos) bring
whatever you like.
3. Have a Pokémon water battle (i.e. Squirtle gun fight and
Wartortle balloon battle)

Although the theme of the party is Pokémon, feel free to bring along
others thing that you may enjoy!

With that said and done, if I missed any items or they need to be
corrected please post.

Also don't forget create your profile on the PLA folks Database, if
you don't I may just go ahead and add them myself, and who knows what

Cool, people are posting again.  Just out of curiosity, did you get
the last of the PLA3 Flier3 fliers or the first of the PLA3 Flier4
fliers?  LepreCon was our official time and place to switch between
fliers.  Flier3 was available at the start of the convention, while
Flier4 was available at the end of the convention.

um- ~busrts into laughter~ yeah, if i get an umbreon
card, i will begien working on a deck again.. making
sure to make full use of my auto-evolving eevee (low
level eevee card, evolves as soon as somebody else
does, lets me search for an eevee evolution in my deck
as a reaction) but, to do that, i also still need dark
energy... ~frowns~ but whatever, i really haven't been
doing much with pokemon for about the past coupl'a
months..  got that erika and rocket deck for thrid
place last year, bought a giovanni and a koga deck
scince that, and a couple team rocket booster packs
(unfortunatly, most of that isn't touryment legal
anymore.. but whatever, still works for friendly play)
oh yeah, i picked up a dark chazard.. just wish i had
more'n one charmander and charmeleon to evolve for a
deck.. yeah, i have a few cards i've got like six of i

reason it was so rocket filled is we had so many
people used to playing villains and dark heros.. heh

sorta both, freind o' mine picked up a flyer at
lepecon, and gave it to me, i decided scince i hadn't
paid attention to the last flyer before i lost it, i'd
actually look at this one, and behold, a yahoo

yeah, i know that one, trying to make absolutly
certain you didn't forget anything when you bags seem
lighter for some reason, despite having more stuff

game and I will return them this time.


We didn't have a technique for storing the Pokémon llast year, plus
it was such a rush, but now we have a card file woohoo! So yes indeed
I did find the "missing" cards so I should have them there.  Right
now I am in the process of moving and putting all my cards together,
but I did indeed find the Mewtwo and the Hitmon something or other.

As for continuing teams, those won't be available, start from scratch
yet again, sorry I know maybe if I remember your face though I'll
start your Pokémon with an experience or two.

HEY! it's me, Aaron, i was at hexacon 11, i was the
one who made a minor display over wishing for the
umbreon button, and the frequent pestering opon the
avalibility on the umbroeon evolution, which i see is
still unavailible, but then thats understandable i
guess, seeing as it comes in two forms, rare and
holo-foil rare..

but yeah, just so's you guys know, i'll be lending the
same cards i did last time too.. um, i'd have to look
up which cards i had punched cause i can't rember all
of them off the top of my head, but i do remeber
submiting a mewtwo and one of the orginal hitmons? i
do remeber a couple having been released in the wild
(heck, i remeber fighting my hitmon in the tournyment)
but still.. not mention i still say i shoulda come out
second instead of first.. if i'd have played the
second placer instead of the one who got first place..
oh well, not big a deal.. sides, i can't even remeber
my whole team from that game.. sides my two normal
types eevee and otachi, and my ponyta.. um...... kuso,
i can't remeber the rest.. yeah, back at hexacon 11
was kinda rocket over-ridden, well, i guess it had to
do with the fact that, well, look at most of the male
trainers from that game..


anyway i'm sorta sad i couldn't get to leprecon to
play, but i will be at hexacon 12.

Pokémon.  Due to my somewhat hectic schedule with moving I will be
