The winner: Piecepack Letterbox, by Ron Hale-Evans
While we had several games which were very good, Letterbox had the best
combination of game play, solid design, and logical and necessary
integration of a piecepack expansion (the whole point of the contest,
remember).
I'm only going to pass along feedback privately, and only if you actually
want it. So if you are an author of one of the entries and you are
interested, let me know and I'll send it to you some time after GenCon.
Also, if you submitted a game and have since updated the rules, please let
me know so I can get the correct version up on piecepack.org.

... W00t! Worth the wait! Thanks, Dave! Thanks also to my game design group EGGS and my regular game night Seattle Cosmic for playtesting, and my beautiful and...
Congratulations! I had the pleasure of playtesting and going letterboxing with Ron more than once and enjoyed both enough to plan to do them again. Kisa ... ...
I tried the game today after building a seasons set. We were only two players, and the game seems to lose some of the fun, but it was enjoyable. We each made...
... Wow, Jorge, I'm glad you had fun, but PPLB is definitely not meant to be a two-player game. If you do create a two-player variant that really works well,...
... Well, I think the game can be played with 2, but it loses a lot of the fun. All the "uncertainty" of not knowing who found what is gone because you both...
... someone ... I agree. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I initially thought that the game might be too sensitive to the relative dificulty of the clues,...
... Thanks to everyone who congratulated me for winning the competition. Kisa, that was an especially nice thing to say. (Kisa really has gone letterboxing...
... Since I'm guessing Dave will not have time to post game PDFs on the Big Board until he returns from GenCon, I've posted the version of Piecepack Letterbox...
Hi I just read the rules and the game seems to be very fun. I don't have a Seasons piecepack set, but I think I'm going to build one to try this one out :) The...
http://www.ludism.org/piecepack/pplb.html ... Thanks, Jorge! ... Something like this was actually a rule at one point in the design process, but it was hard to...
... Can you explain? I don't understand... When you finish the game it is easy to prove your letterbox was found (you've got to have at least one of your own...
... Sorry for being unclear. What I meant was that a rule stating you had to make your clue easy was hard to enforce and didn't help the play. People would...
Hello, I understand, and see how enforcing a rule that says the clues cannot be hard would be impossible, as different people would have a different opinion on...
... Well, all I can say in the end is that such a rule didn't work with my playtesters in practice. You're free to develop a variant. If it works for your...
... I guess it is quite subjective, as I said, I'll have to try it out to really see if it would work... I may find it doesn't work either... Cheers, -Jorge...
How about this as a less binary variant: at the end of the game, give each player points equal to 2 times either the number of players who guessed his ...
... Congratulations, Ron! Indeed, from the preview I saw, Piecepack Letterbox looks like a great game and a worthy winner. Kudos! Since the contest has closed,...
... Great job Ron! I haven't yet played the game but from a read of the rules it sounds like a lot of fun. My impression is that the game is sort of a cross...
... Thanks, Mike. That means a lot, coming from you. You know how highly I regard Alien City. ... Thanks again. I must say, balancing the scoring system was...
