Depending on how long the fighter has been blind will matter. Even if the
fighter has been trained to fight, blinded it is not as good as if the fighter
had sight.
While enhanced senses may be a reality, I dont think they would help in this
situation.
I am sure there is a reason the army is not looking for blind people.
Of course there is always the "this is a game" approach.

Subject: [phoenix_command] Blindfighting efficacy?
How effective could a wholly blind fighter be in hand to hand? Hollywood
implies perfect efficacy; is there any real world data on such a thing? I
imagine that the "enhanced senses of the blind" is somewhat overrated, but I
could be wrong.
