Since there are a number of options for the hard core tournament level Scrabble enthusiasts in the Portland Oregon area, it was the consensus that this group is for all the rest of us who are looking to play just for fun. Thus, we describe our play as "parlor" Scrabble.

This is a casual group of mostly intermediate level players with a few beginners, a couple of experts, and occasionally, a tournament player will stop by. We freely use word lists, don't mind using the 4th edition of the Official Scrabble Players' Dictionary, and challenges don't necessarily result in forfeiture. We meet on the second Wednesday and fourth and last (sometimes the last is also the fifth) Friday each month at a close-in SE coffee shop. Check our Calendar for specific dates and places.

By joining our group, you'll receive email reminders of upcoming games, usually 5 days and 1 day beforehand. The group is just for meeting notices and any administrivia that might come up.

There's no charge to be in the group or play games, but we do encourage you to purchase beverages and/or food from our host coffee shop. Feel free to bring your word lists, Scrabble dictionary, and Deluxe board (if you have one) to the games.
