I use PCGen on a PIII with 256mb ram :-). It seems a little slow, but I
love it.

It would be nice, but I'm afraid there are far too few of us; and even
fewer volunteer code monkeys.

The version that CMP data files currently work with is the previous
production version: 5.8.1. You can verify this at

Wouldn't ya know it? I tried looking for a "ThisFileIsCompatable" type
token and searched the help, but it didn't occur to me that it might
be an enforced naming convention. Thanks Chuck!

Someone aught to point this out to a Doc Monkey.

Well, we always work to optomise the code, but a MacOS native
interface won't be within PCGen scope. Have you tried using the high
memory options for pcgen? What version are you running?

Karianna

PS: I suspect your P3 laptop will always struggle a little with
PCGen, as it takes a good ~128M once you have a few data sets loaded,
your mac mini however should be fine

I am impressed. I posted 3 bugs and all three have been fixed in NO
TIME !

The fix for 1514970 <https://sourceforge.net/tracker/
index.php?func=detail&aid=1514970&group_id=25576&atid=384719>
apparently did not make it into the autobuild. The last production
autobuild is from 1h before you fixed the issues, and no new
autobuild was made.

OK, the autobuilds are still undergoing a little work but if I have
this figured correctly (James correct me if I'm wrong)...

1.) The 5.10.x autobuilds (leading to the 5.10.1 release) are
occuring, but we do _not_ post those on SF as a DEV snapshot

2.) The 5.11.x autouilds (leading to a 5.12.0 release) are occuring
and are put up daily? on SF, so you should see my fix appear there
soon (as in today?).

Yes we're going to improve on this :-).

I thought so too, but I can't find it. Under "Output Sheets" is a
section titled "Creating an Output Sheet". Seems a new paragraph
should be in there at the top that talks about directories and file
name conventions...

I've flagged for a Tracker Monkey.

Hi,

The best place to visit to look at the autobuilds is
http://pcgen.sourceforge.net/07_autobuilds.php - this page has links to
the correct download sets and the build reports, which are pretty
comprehensive.

An important thing to note is that builds are only done if changes have
been made, so if the build wakes up and finds no changes it goes back to
sleep. A file and report is only generated if it finds there is
something to work on.

The 5.10.x autobuilds (leading to the 5.10.1 release) are built (see
above) every 4 hours. The generated file is deployed to SourceForge in
the 5.10.x Snapshot 'folder' under the PCGen Z Snapshot Build package.
The files are date stamped (currently GMT, but I'll change it soon to
AEST to match the build report times) so the newer ones are further down
the list.

The 5.11.x autobuilds (leading to a 5.12.0 release) are built (see
above) every 8 hours. The generated file is deployed to SourceForge in
the Dev Snapshot 'folder' under the PCGen Z Snapshot Build package. As
with the 5.10.x autobuilds, the files are date stamped so the newer ones
are further down the list.

Hope that helps to clear up any misconceptions about the autobuilds and
if there are any questions, please fire away.

PS: Checking the prod branch change log indicates that Kar's changes to
fix bug #1514970 are included in the latest prod autobuild, see

I am new with the program, and I have found on the files section (I think) a

would like to know if there is some work to translate to spanish the data sets,

I own an AMD 3000Mhz and 512 Mb RAM, and I have been suffering of that slowness
too. It happens when starting a new character or when performing any operation
involving the opening of a file window. On the last case, it slows also when I
change directory, or when I have to select an output sheet.

This is indeed where I found the autobould. Now I've tested this with
both latest Production and Development autobuild, and in both cases I
still get the Bear (Black) as Template on the preview and on the PDF

As a followup, what are the exact naming conventions?
csheet: Export characters from the export dialogue.
psheet: Export entire parties from the export dialogue.
eqsheet: Export equipment sheets from the Inventory-Equipment tab.

Spellsheets to export from the Spells tab?
The current ones do have the csheet prefix

It does work in fantasy combined.
The HTML uses just the |TEMPLATELIST| whereas the PDF goes more into
detail using |TEMPLATE.%template.NAME|

I replaced
<name>|TEMPLATE.%template.NAME|</name>
by
<name>|TEMPLATE.%template.OUTPUTNAME|</name>

and have the desired outputname on my PDF. For me it is fine like
this. Maybe now it is an OS bug ? :-)

And a doc problem. There is no "OUTPUTNAME" subtoken listed in the
docs on TEMPLATE. However, this is against the naming convention of
most of the OS tokens. The proper way is either "NAME" or <none> shows
the name. If it's defined, the outputname from the lst file should
replace the name. OUTPUTNAME should not exist or be used.

OK, I'm going to have to sort the rest of this out in the 5.12 series
I'm afraid, I'll open a new bug for it, thanks for the reports and
followup guys!

Hi all,

Due to some fantastic work by James, the autobuilds are back, please

At lvl 13 a monk gets Diamond Body, which gives him SR:10+CL

It seems PCGen does not know which CL to add, because for a lvl 13
Monk I get SR=10 (tested with Homebrew and confirmed with RSRD
complete only using autobuild from 060704).

As workaround I tested SR:10+(CL=Monk) and then got the expected
value of 13. As far as I know, being inside the definition of the
class, the CL=Monk should not be necessary.

Thomas/Chipoulou, very thankful to his players for checking their
charsheet into such detail

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this group and to PCGen itself. I've run into a printing
problem I'm hoping someone can help me with. I select print, choose:
"d20\fantasy\pdf\csheet_dnd_std_grey.xslt" from the list, hit print
and I get: "java.lang.NullPointerException: null" and I don't know
what to do with it. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Phil

Hello again,
I also was wondering just what .xslt editor is most popular. I've
never worked with those. Is there a favored WYSIWYG editor?
Thanks again,
Phil

At the risk of starting an editor/environment war - I use emacs, with the
xae plugin (http://cedet.sourceforge.net/eieio.shtml). I also use GNU XML
library under Cygwin (a unix-like environment), which lets me do command
line statements like xsltrans to execute an XSL statement, or navigate an
XML lib.

Shows like the ampersand problem. Somewhere in your notes, or
equipment if you used an ampersand & in the text, it causes this
problem. Otherwise, if that's not it, please tell us:
Version of PCGen
Version of Java
Version of your Operating System

Well, I doubt they'd work on my Windows XP computers <grin>
