1) Ok, so it seems that I can't take a drawback, select it, and then
have the bonus be visible in the bonus tab. Instead, it looks like I
have to select a 0 point mutation, then go to the bonus tab, and then I
can see the bonus. THEN I can go back to the Feat tab and remove the 0
point mutation, and still see the bonus in the bonus tab. Again,
that's rather hackish behavior. I shouldn't have to have a mutation
(especially a mutation my character wont actually have, at any point,
in the game world -- the mutation exists purely for the point of
tricking PCGen into doing the right thing) in order to get the mutation
points bonus.

2) The bonus doesn't work. I still can't buy even a 1 point mutation.

3) If I add the bonus twice, and remove one of the instances, both
disappear.

4) The bonus value should be editable.

(#3 and #4 combine to create a situation where I MUST add 100 mutation
points to my character ... if my GM granted me a 3 point mutation, I
can't just add 3 points to the character and add the mutation, I have
to 100 points and then take the mutation ... leaving me with the
ability to add 97 more points of mutations; this also throws off any
ability to track the mutations if I later become a full mutant and need
to balance my mutation points; instead, PCGen should allow me to add a
specific number of mutation points to my character, and do so multiple
times (so that I can have multiple "gift mutations")).

Statblock1 does not show quantity. That is by design, it's a very simple
type of statblock. Statblock2 and Statblock3 both do show the quantity.
So look at Statblock2 or Statblock3, if you want to make a modified
Statblock1 that shows quantity.

That's another FREQ. See tracker #1159515. I've been busy trying to
help get 5.8, so it hasn't gotten to the top of my list just yet. But
it will get done.

Morning all,

This may seem like a basic question, but I cannot figure out from the
docs how to select this or if it's being properly created in the
expected directory.

I have a Monte Cook Sorceror in a 3E game. I do have the CMP 3E files.
I am trying to create a pcc that will allow me to load the lst files
from CMP along with the permissioned files from PCGen release. I have
created several PCC files, have not found a single place where I can
select the file I've created and they don't show up in my souce
selection window.

Please help.

Thanks, Michael

Hi,

I just tried out the Battlemind class from the msrd and saw that it doesn't
raise the power points. You get 2 power points at first level and stay there
at the higher ones.

I looked up msrd_classes_fx.lst and I saw that the power point raising was
done the exactly same way as in the Telepath class, where it works without
problems.

After a lot of testing and frustration I found out, that when I renamed the
class from "Battlemind" to "Herbert" everything worked OK. (No, this is not
an April Fools joke).

In debug mode when I tried to display the variables and entered
var("CL=Battlemind") I was corrected sometimes with BATTLEMIN instead of
Battlemind, so I assume that BATTLEMIN might be an internal variable and
that causes the problem.

This issue popped up a few months back, I thought it had been dealt with.

If its the same issue PCGen is trying to parse the MIN in Battlemind as a
math operator making the assumption the "Battle" & "d" are VARs to compare.

If this is all contained in class lines we can fix this simply by changing
CL=Battlemind" to "CL" and be done with it. If its used outside of the class
lines like in hidden feats and such we have a more difficult problem.

I made a search for the term "Battlemind" using Filehand Search and found the
term in the following files:
     - msrd_fx_powers.lst (only in the CLASSES tags, and I think these work)
     - msrd_fx.lst (this is obviously an old file that was split later into a
powers and a spells file, I don't know why it is still there, it isn't called in
the pcc)
     - msrd_classes_fx.lst (well, that one was obvious since it caused the
problem)
     - msrd_feats.lst (only in TYPE tags and these are working, too)

and in a comment in a cityscape file. So it looks like there are no hidden feats
involved.

Just use greasemonkey (with firefox): http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/

There are already scripts in the script repository for Y! groups:
http://dunck.us/collab/GreaseMonkeyUserScripts

Greasemonkey allows firefox to run arbitrary javascript on a page as
it's loaded, allowing you the user to completely alter the content if
the page if you want to. It's one of the most fundamentally cool (and
scary - if you are a business who depends on controlling how people use
things) to appear on the web in the past year.

Does it allow you to add content that's not there?

My biggest gripe with the new look isn't the look itself. It's that
the "mygroups" page used to tell me how many pending messages and
pending memberships each group I moderate had ... and now it doesn't.
So I have to visit each group to find out. That's a major reduction in
usability.

Yes. Some of the scripts that work with allmusic aggregate the
information from multiple pages into one.

None of the existing scripts do that, but it should be easy, because you
can grab content from other pages using greasemonkey - they have a place
where people can request additions to the scripts.

FYI, similar functionality is available for Safari on Mac OS X with
"PithHelmet"

I've not checked out the GreaseMonkey scripts for Yahoo! Groups, but if
anyone cares, let me know, I'll look at them and make a PithHelmet
equivalent.

P.S. I don't use the web interface, so I didn't even know it changed.

Hi,

I was working on some own lst files concerning the Dragonlance
campaign I now play already for several years (we are just moving from
2nd AD&D to 3.5 D&D). We have some custom rules, so the lst files
differ on some points from the official rules and these are in no way
complete. I just created the items I need for building my Solamnic
Knight of the Rose in PCGen.

During this, I was thinking... why not creating the whole setting in
lst files... Some years ago I created the lst files for 'Auran D20',
so I have some experience.

Now, I'm wondering:
1) Is this setting already worked on? No point on duplicating the work
I think...
2) Does anybody know if we are allowed to create public lst files for
dragonlance? No point on starting to work on it, if we're not
allowed...

Further notice:

I don't have much free time. I think this work as something for
relaxing and hobbying... so don't expect it will be finished soon.
I'll take my time on it.

Regards,
zifnabbe

1) www.codemonkeypublishing.com has the Dragonlance campaign setting for sale
($7.00) in the Zoo Store.

2) No, you cannot create a public version because Dragonlance is not open
content.

If you wish to create one for yourself, go for it. "Publishing" or putting it on
the web, etc. is not allowed.

Okay,

Thanks for the reply. I was already wondering why nobody started to
work on an official version for PCGEN :-)

Just a question: If I buy the setting. Do I than also buy the other
basic settings of codemonkeypublishing? (ie for compatibility reasons)

It was a code bug and was fixed.

If it's back the bug is back.

I'm pretty sure you have to buy the Core Set as well.

Eric, is the Windows installer going to be updated to Java 1.5?

Correct. CMP creates their datasets against their version of the core
rules. And their PHB/DMG/MM set is not the same as our SRD/RSRD set.

I *think* that you would have to buy the Core Set (ie. PHB, DMG, MM) for 3.5,
but I am not sure. Code Monkey Publishing have their
own forums. You could ask there, or send an email to their customer service id.

Michael I put the tracker in for that last night and James fixed it
already :)

Look at
<https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384719&aid=1176582&gr
oup_id=25576>.

It might have even made it into the newest RC. Not sure about that. It's
definitly in the autobuilds.

That's a pitty...

So because of the fact that Dragonlance isn't OGL and people would
like to use PCGen for creating their Dragonlance characters, you've
either to:

1. Buy the core & dragonlance sets from CMP; but this will make all
other open PCGen lst files unusable.
2. Manage your own custom dragonlance set

This is a sad circumstance.
