Hi,

A friend of mine discovered this, I donīt know this is appilicable to
all of MM, but this can be observed if you generate a wolf.

When you advance it, everythig works fine (size, ability changes)
except the damage die does not change with a size change (as per
first table on page 14 in MM)

The problem has been in several versions of PCGen, and to my
knowledge, never been correct.

Also all Plambert builds at least since yesterday natural weapon
proficiencies on animals/monsters return a error when they are loaded:
(This is from a Pseudodragon)
Weaponprof feat not found: NATURAL Weapon Proficiency:Sting
Weaponprof feat not found: NATURAL Weapon Proficiency:Bite

Hi,

Try selecting an item of equipment in your Selected list (on the right),
then right clicking, and then selecting "Re-sort output by name". That
should get your order column sorted, and when you print, it will come out in
that order. You can then fiddle with the order to get things listed the way
you prefer them, and even hide things if you wish.

Cheers,

Just wanted to put the word out that I have completed
a sheet that exports Star Wars characters to PDF
format. It has been tested to the best of my
abilities. I have run it through Karianna and now it
is in ROG's court to take a look at and implement.
ROG? I am boning up on character sheets and am
currently working on a SpyCraft sheet - even though I
don't own the game :)

What's involved in creating a template for PDF's? I assume
(dangerous, I realize) that I can't use Frontpage or any HTML editor to
create the template, so what would I use?

Could you fix the Tech Specialist, the prerequisites for the class
are wrong. The class is from the revised book, and has Force

It's more like riddled. So far there is about 3 full text pages of
material that is 'broken' and needs to be errated. I would wait till
the second printing of this book for those who haven't bought it. I
only bought it cause buy.com had it for $14 and i couldn't pass it up.

I expect the errata to take about a month to compile and ship out. I
knwo they lady in charge of it is getting bombarded.

Hi guys.

I'm working on a character for gaming this weekend.  It's a Druid with a Wolf as an animal companion.  The Resources tab seems to work great and does what it's supposed to it seems.  However, I've noticed that when switching to the Wolf's tabs that he has no skills and only 2 skill points.  Should the Default Monsters be on when adding animal companions of this nature?

It will definitely be easier to spot you while milling around the

I know recently we've all been extremely busy focused on items for
the production release. After GenCon we'll have time to look at
items like this that didn't make the short list. Random generation
is definitely something I'd like us to do. :)

Sorry if this is non-sequitur but, I started using (a long time ago)
PRESA:1,Weapon Specialization in the Weapon Specialization feat, and
added SA:Weapon Specialization to the level line of any class I
wanted to be able to specialize at some point in their career.

Am I high? This SEEMS easy.

hmmmm.....

nope, don't like it.... too easy.... makes sense... nope, not here... that
dog don't hunt mister... :-) :-)

Not bad really. :-)

I think the problem is that any class that gets it at the moment, other than
a fighter naturally, can only choose it at one particular time and no other.
Doesn't make sense for me, but that's the way it's stated.. :-/

(Personally, I think any class that can specialize should be able to pick it
up at any level after they gain the ability)

On that note, what do people really want when they say "random NPC
generation". I personally am not interested in a totally random process,
since randomizing everything will likely result in an NPC that doesn't suit
my purpose. So, I thought maybe a discussion of the organization of this
functionality might be in order.

To start things off, I'll proffer my wish list for such a generator. Some
of these things may already be done, while others may never be.

- The ability to choose some parameters, such as class, race, CR, purpose,
environment, etc, or some subset of those, and build a character that fits
into those parameters. For instance, say I want a CR 3 monster (or some set
of monsters that constitutes an EL 3) that might be encountered in a swamp,
or a PHB race NPC magic user with a level of 4-7. I might also want a
monster or NPC that is particularly suited, or not suited, to deal with a
particular set of abilities, such as an NPC who has the ability to see
invisible things, or a fighter with a magic weapon to counter damage
resistance.

- The ability to generate multiple NPCs/Monsters at one time. Not identical
ones, since that's just a matter of photocopying a single character, but
rather minor variations between the different results. For instance, I
might want a group of 10 fighters that use a variety of weapons.

- The ability to have a user defined "profile" to restrict what is randomly
chosen for a particular purpose. For instance, the profile for a battle
mage might include a set of spells that concentrates on damage and buffs,
while the profile for an assassin might include a set of skills that lend
themselves to that profession. The generator would then choose from within
those limits when randomizing.

These are fairly ambitious, but I'd at least like to see some elements of
this sort of thing.

The templates for PDF are *.fo files - a special kind of XML.
I'm not sure if there are specialised tools - I suppose not, but you
could use an XML editor if you like.

You can get some Know-How on *.fo here:

Is there a feat in PCGen that allows you to choose one (or a few)
cross-class skills as class skills?

Hope there is, or there is a way to make one...

nope nothing. I got the files loaded and played with them but i am
unsure how to proceed. I checked the equipment over and didn't see
any glaring errors. I would like to know what kind of debugging needs
to be done further, hence i posted a APB.

take jamis' NPCGen+ equipment generator+pcgen=program i would use.

all that Jamis' needs is a way to add in equipment to the process and
it would be awesome. It currently gives you a GP total's worth but
it's a pain to recreate in pcgen or RPM and do it that way. IF PCGen
could find a way to add equipment to the mix that would be all i need.

I submitted this at Sourceforge.net as bug number 589725

If I open any character in PC Gen, the program will, without fail, demand
that I save the character because it's changed. This happens whether or
not I change anything. It even happens if I hit the "Save All" menu
choice.

Forgotten Realms Cosmopolitan feat allows one non-exclusive
cross-class skill to be a class skill.

i'm obviously doing something wrong! I downloaded the pdf library and
unzipped it per the instructions into the lib sub-directory, but pcgen
insists the files don't exist. is there somewhere i need ot tweak my

hmmm, strange.
Which files are now located in your lib dirctory?
You did restart PCGen, right?
Maybe try deleting the options.ini file, but that really shouldn't be
a problem ...
